Qualitative research approach involves processes, feelings, and motives (the why’s and
the how’s) and produces in-depth and holistic data.
Phenomenology refers to the study of how people find their experiences meaningful. It is
one in which the experiences and perceptions of the selected participants are examined
in depth.
GROUNDED THEORY takes place when you discover a new theory to underlie your
study at the line of data collection and analysis.
Pure research deals with concepts, principles, or abstract things. This type of research
aims to increase your knowledge about something.
Applied research intends to apply your chosen research to societal problems or issues,
finding ways to make positive changes in society.
Descriptive Research aims at defining or giving a verbal portrayal or picture of a person,
thing, event, group, situation, etc.
Correlational Research is only concerned with indicating the existence of a relationship,
not the causes and ways of the development of such relationship.
Explanatory Research elaborates or explains not just the reasons behind the relationship
of two factors but also the ways by which such relationship exists.
Exploratory research lets you discover ideas on topics that could trigger your interest in
conducting research studies.
Action Research studies ongoing practice of a school, organization, community, or
institution for the purpose of obtaining results that will bring improvements in the system.
Saturation point is when there is enough data to ensure that research questions were
answered.
A survey or review of related literature and studies is very important because such
reviewed literature and studies serve as a foundation of the proposed study.
In the process of gathering related literature, researcher deals with definitions. Denotation
is a definition coming from dictionary while connotation is a definition coming from own
self.
Descriptive design answers who, what, where, when and how questions related to a
particular research problem.
Related Literature is composed of discussions of facts and principles to which the present
study is related.
Related studies are investigations already conducted to which the present proposed study
is related or has some bearing or similarity.
