STARTING SEQUENCE OF DMCW & BOOSTER PUMP

 Ensure that the level of DMCW Overhead tank is normal (>1500mm).
 Check the suction pressure of DMCW pump to be normal (2 kg/cm²).
 Open vents in DMCW discharge line.
 Start 2 nos DMCW pumps. Check that the discharge valves are opening in DCS as well as in
local.

 After the valve opens fully & a discharge pressure of 5kg/cm² is reached, start 1 DMCW
Booster pump. Check the discharge pressure of the pump.
 Close all vents after the removal of air.

PERMISSIVE OF DMCW PUMP

 Suction header pressure adequate (>1000mm).
 Suction valve full open.
 Suction header pressure >1.6kg/cm².
 DMCW pump OFF.
 Discharge valve CLOSED.
 MCC not disturbed.
 EPB not operated.
 SS in Remote.
 MCC available.

PROTECTIONS OF DMCW PUMP

 DMCW ON & suction valve CLOSED.
 Discharge header pressure > 6.6kg/cm².
 Suction header pressure < 1kg/cm².
 Discharge valve fail to OPEN.
 DMCW discharge pressure V. HIGH.

START PERMISSIVE OF DMCW-BOOSER PUMP

 Suction header pressure adequate.
 Suction valve full OPEN.
 Booster DMCW OFF
 Discharge valve closed.
 EPB not operated.
 MCC not disturbed.
 SS in REMOTE.

PROTECTIONS OF DMCW-BOOSTER PUMP

 Boosters pump on & suction valve closed.
 Discharge header pressure HIGH.
 Discharge header pressure V LOW.
 Booster discharge valve fail to OPEN.
 Discharge pressure V HIGH.
