In my first day of teaching practice at the first academy school I arrived to the school early at 6:45

Am, after I arrived to the school I meet the students supervisor who welcomed and introduced me to
the school stuff and took me to a tour in the school to discover the facilities and classrooms which
are provided for students and teachers needs. Ms Ahlam has planned my classes schedule where I
will attend grade 3 with both boys and girls, then she told me that there are absent teachers so they
need us to cover their classes which make me feel kind of nervous.

The first class I have observed with my MST I can describe it with one word "uncomfortable"
because it was totally negative classroom environment. It was crowded boys class with untidy
tables setting, traditional teaching style which is not appropriate for the students level, negative
punishments, shouting on students and moreover we were standing up for 45 minutes. So I took
negative impression from the first observation. But in the next days I observed some positive
strategies and I participated in different science activities such as planting plants in school yard and
create a STREAM project and also I went to a trip to waset wetland to give the students the
opportunity to discover different types of birds. As well as I did some of the teachers duties such
as, correcting books and taking the students to the bus. Through these activities in my first week
I've builded a positive relationships with the students as well as teachers and I determine the
students personalities, interests and abilities. The most interesting science activity was creating
volcano because the teacher used the 5Es steps and it was a stream project which mean it combine
more than one subject in one activity and they are Science, technology, reading, engineering, art and
math. The students were so excited in doing this project because it meet their interests especially in
that part where they mix different materials to create dough for the volcano.
So this week was so valuable and useful to improve my skills and experience although there were
negative things.
