Retell: Somebody, Wanted, But, So, Then

Overview & Purpose Education Standards Addressed


The process of Retell is using words to tell the key ideas from the text being read. The Somebody, Wanted, §110.13 English and Language Arts and Reading
But, So, Then (SWBST) strategy helps breakdown the key information students are looking for in the (b) knowledge and skills
reading. (7) Response skills: listening, speaking, reading, writing, and thinking
using multiple texts. The student responds to an increasingly
challenging variety of sources that are read, heard, or viewed. The
student is expected to:
(D) retell and paraphrase texts in ways that maintain meaning and
logical order

Lesson Details
