Overview & Purpose Education Standards Addressed

The process of Retell is using words to tell the key ideas from the text being read. The Somebody, Wanted, §110.13 English and Language Arts and Reading
But, So, Then (SWBST) strategy helps breakdown the key information students are looking for in the (b) knowledge and skills
reading. (7) Response skills: listening, speaking, reading, writing, and thinking
using multiple texts. The student responds to an increasingly
challenging variety of sources that are read, heard, or viewed. The
student is expected to:

logical order

Summary
have the yellow retell card and are supposed to move
the bead to the specific SWBST detail they are
hearing/understanding. The students then fill out the
flipbook to reinforce the material they have just learned
from the book
This is a fun activity that help enforce the retell
effect, and providing the visual while they are
reading the story is a great way to keep them
focused and listening
