PERSUADING AND CONVINCING EXPRESSIONS
The expression used to persuasion and convince in oder can accept our oponnion.
Persuading
learn some expression to show persuasions
example:
If I were you I would just stay at home
I Think ypu ought to………..
You’d better………..
Convincing
Learn som expression to convice others
I assure you, I can do the job well
I convince you,I’m the right person to do job
The verbs convince and persuade are very similar meaning but there is
adiferrences at the using both of them.
After persuade we used the pattern:
To + infinitive
Example
I persuade them to stay for another drink
He persuaded her not to take the job
b) Adverb of frequency
Example:
Always
I always arrive in the school on time
c) Adverb of manner
Example:
Automatically
The toaster will automatically turn of
Fast
He always drives fast
d) Adverb of modality
Example:
Certainly
I certainly want to come to my birthday party
Likely
You will likely regret your decision one day
e) Adverb of degree
Example:
Very
He runs very fast
f) Adverb of place
Example:
At home
I spend my holyday in jaakarta
g) Adverb of interrogative
What
What is your name?
When
When you’re the party held?
Why
Why do you hate me?
2. POSITION OF ADVERB
In the beginning sentence(before subyek)
Example:
now we will study English
yesterday she announced that she is quitting her job
in the middle sentence (between subyek and auxiliary verb and main verb )
example:
we often study English
you you should never take unnecesarry risks
adverb in the middle sentence,sentence put on after auxiliary verb if not there auxiliary verb
adverb put on before main verb.
In the end sentences/( after verb or object)
Example:
We study english carefully
he sat down suddenly
adverb usually not put on between verb and direct object but put on after object.
ADVERB ORDER
Adverb order is arranging word to be sentence which the sentence arrange
from the words that not have double mean or ambigu.the kinds of adverb order that usually
arrange to be one unity in the sentence,such as:
1. adverb of manner
2. adverb of time
3. adverb of place
4. adverb of frequency
5. adverb of purpose
