gents”. Read it. And scream in outrage.
That’s certainly my reaction. That
guy has got some nerve to sit in his Irish
Ivory Tower and come to the conclusion
that food aid to African countries should
be discontinued. After all, he argues,
where’s the morality in helping a child
survive infancy if he faces a tough life?
But let’s cast aside our obvious dis-
dain and look at the facts.
As one of my colleagues commented:
for every dysfunctional African country,
there is an efficient one. But it’s the bad
news that makes headlines.
As much as we sometimes sneer at
Jacob Zuma, we have to come to his
defence now. His stupidity concerning
the infamous shower cannot possibly be
compared to bigger issues such as child
