A general power interrupt has the following effects:
− All current transactions are immediately aborted
(exception: transport of the ID card).
− Depending on the parameter setting, ID cards are either output, retained
or transported to the ID card reject tray. This transaction will be properly
completed.
− Dispensed banknotes remain in the transport paths of the cash-out
module. They are transported to the collecting tray or the reject cassette
after the device is switched on.
• Open the front door and lift the customer panel up (see chapter "Basic Operation",
section "Opening / closing the doors").
• To ensure that the entire device is disconnected from power, you must also pull the
plug of the power cable from the wall outlet or interrupt the power supply in the
distributor box of the building by switching off the circuit-breaker or by removing the
fuse.

General
To carry out service and maintenance work on the ProCash 1500 you need the product-
specific software installed on the device.
Without the product-specific software you cannot carry out any service and
maintenance tasks on your ProCash 1500.
The product-specific software supports activities such as replacing paper for the printer or
changing cassettes in the cash-out module.
On the frontload model the dialog for the software takes place via the PIN pad and on the
rearload model via the operator panel.
The menu function trees are clearly arranged and adjustable to the customer’s request
enabling even less experienced users to choose the desired function easily and
comfortably. Security mechanisms allow functions to be deactivated for different users.
Detailed help texts and system messages support the user. These texts are available in
German and English. The language can be selected.
• Open the front door and lift the customer panel (see section "Opening / closing the
doors").
The product-specific software is used via the PIN pad and the LCD monitor.
The software is used via the operator panel on the rear side of the device.

• Activate the product-specific software (see chapter "Basic Operation", section "Calling
the product-specific software").
• Open the safe door (see chapter "Basic Operation", section "Opening / closing the safe
door").
• Remove and open the cassette (see section "Opening the cassette").
With this function, a microswitch reports to the connected system that the cassette only
contains a certain number of banknotes.
• Remove and open the cassette (see section "Opening the cassette").
• Set the slide (1) manually (see arrows) to the desired minimum banknote quantity.
The minimum banknote quantity can be set between 50 and 550 (in steps of 50)
using the green mechanical slide (1).
Setting ’0’ means that the function is deactivated.
Fill the cash-out cassette only with intact and carefully prepared banknote bundles of one
denomination each to ensure error-free dispensing.
• Set the low cash sensor (if the cassette features it) to the desired quantity of remaining
banknotes (see section "Setting the low cash sensor").
Sort out the damaged banknotes and/or remove clips, needles or other foreign objects.
• Close the cash-out cassette and re-insert it (see section "Inserting the cassette").
• Unlock the cassette with the key and open the top cover.
• Close the top cover of the cassette and lock the cassette with the key.
• If a triple signal tone sounds instead of a single tone, remove the cassette and check
the contents of the cash-out cassette (see the instructions in the section "Filling the
cash-out cassette"). Then try again to insert the cassette.
The acoustic warning (triple signal tone) is accompanied by a message on the status
display of the controller (ZAC).
Example:
- Cash-out cassette 1
− Initial operation
− Use of new banknote types.
• Activate the product-specific software (see chapter "Basic Operation", section "Calling
the product-specific software").
From the specified cassette the currency characteristics, the value of the banknotes and
the emission date will be read out. These values are transmitted to the cassette when it is
initialized. There will be as many bank notes dispensed as necessary to determine the
reference value. The process of determining the reference value will be terminated at the
latest if the reference value cannot be determined within the maximum possible number of
notes. After the reference value has been determined, the dispensed number of notes is
reported back to the system.
• Open the safe door (see chapter "Basic Operation", section "Opening / closing the safe
door").
• Holding the green locking handle, pull the cash-out module out of the safe as far as
possible (see chapter "Basic Operation", section "Opening / closing the doors").
Danger of injury!
• Select the next cash-out cassette using the product-specific software or quit the
function for setting the reference value.
• Close the safe door (see chapter "Basic Operation", section "Opening / closing the
safe door").

Press the function pushbutton on the ZAC to start tests and to reset the AZM. To start a
test function, the cash-out module must be in normal mode. ’00’ is then shown on the
status display.
When you press and hold the function key, ’00’, ’1’, 2’ and ’3’ are shown on the status
display. What these numbers mean is described in the following table. To start a particular
sequence, release the key when the status display shows the relevant value.
The functions described in the following sections can be performed only when the
safety switch is closed (i.e. the AZM is in cash-out position). Functions ’2’ and ’3’
may be started only from normal operation (display ’00’) or when all transport
paths are guaranteed to be free.
The TH21 / TH22 printer is a compact printer with a thermal printing unit, integrated cutter
and a presenter.
The paper path is controlled by several paper sensors. The printer is equipped with
sensors which indicate the remaining quantity of paper (weekend supply) and the end of
the paper supply. The paper supply can thus be monitored with the user software.
The printer models TH21 and TH22 are operated in the same manner. The difference
between the two models is that the paper width is greater for the TH22; also, it has an
additional connection for controlling an external shutter.

Weekend sensor
The weekend sensor is located on the paper roll holder.
The photosensor reports to the application whether or not a minimum amount of paper is
available. Depending on the application, this message can be evaluated and displayed on
a screen, for example.
The current print job is executed normally.
There are 12 m left on the paper roll.
The light barrier reports the absolute end of paper to the application and to the printer.
Depending on the application, this message can be evaluated and displayed on a screen,
for example.
In addition, the printer status LED blinks yellow 3 times in rapid succession (see section
"Printer messages").
Printer messages
The printer messages are displayed by the status LED on the receipt printer.
Depending on the application that is in use, printer messages can also be output to a
display.
• Activate the product-specific software (see chapter "Basic Operation" section "Calling
the product-specific software").
• Open the front door and lift the customer panel up (Frontload) or open the door of the
operating unit (Rearload) (see chapter "Basic Operation", section "Opening / closing
the doors").
• Pull the equipment carriage as far as possible out of the device (see chapter "Basic
Operation", section "Pulling out / pushing in the equipment carriage").
A printer message is displayed by the blinking status LED in a particular color. Each
printer message is characterized by a certain number of blinks. The blinking cycle is
repeated every second or every two seconds until the cause of the error has been
eliminated.
The printer determines automatically whether or not the error has been
eliminated. If the error has been eliminated, the respective error message
disappears.

The thermal receipt printer ND9C / ND9G is a modular printer with a thermal printing unit,
integrated paper cutter and a 120 mm presenter for variable receipt length.
The receipt printer generates documents to user software specifications, e.g. receipt slips.
The receipt printer is equipped with sensors which report paper-low status (weekend
supply) and paper-out status so that the paper supply can be monitored by the application
software.
In contrast to receipt printer ND9C (or ND9E), which uses text-oriented printing (ASCII
printer), receipt printer ND9G can only print with graphical orientation (pixel-oriented) (GDI
printer).
ND9G processes paper rolls with the thermal layer and the control marks on the inside
and the outside of the wound roll.
The thermal layer and the control marks must always be on the same side.

ID card insertion
When you insert an ID card, you should make sure that the magnetic stripe is in the
correct position.
The card reader cannot read the ID card information correctly unless you insert the ID
card into the card reader as described below.
The insertion of the ID card depends on the installation position of the card reader. The ID
card be inserted in the following ways:
Cleaning
The reference address for the specified cleaning materials can be found in the "Appendix"
in the section "Approved cleaning materials".
Check that no dirt remains in the card insertion slot. (If necessary, clean the card insertion
slot with a brush.)
You cannot clean the write / read head unless the device is switched on.
Cleaning procedure
The cleaning card can only be used for a brief period as it is a pre-saturated
cleaning card which dries out after removal from its packaging.
• Insert the cleaning card into the card insertion slot like a regular ID card.
The cleaning card is drawn in and the reader tries to read the cleaning card.
This cleans the read / write head.

Description of connectors
Connectors A, B
These two 3-pin connectors are related by their function. A signal with a strength of 3 V -
24 V at pin 1 of connector B opens the switch of the relay belonging to connector A. This
switch remains open until the switch contact of the relay is closed again by pressing
button (1).
When the contact is open, LED (2) is on (see section "Control and display elements").
The maximum load on the relay contacts is 24 V / 1 A.
Connector C
This 3-pin connector is used for a relay changeover contact. The relays can be switched
via the application. The maximum load of a switch-over contact is 24 V / 1 A.
Connector D
Connector E
This 4-pin connector is reserved for the monitoring of an optional UPS by the application
software.
The connector passes messages from the UPS to the special electronics.
Connector F
This 4-pin connector is reserved for connection of the remote status indicator
(01750047663).
The interface is designed to handle up to a maximum of 24 V / 20 mA.
Connectors G, H
By bridging the contacts with the contacts of customer equipment, e.g. photosensors,
motion detectors, etc., a signal is generated in the relay and passed to the special
electronics (customer feedback 1 - 4).
