Infinitive Simple Past Past Participle
begin began begun
Nesta lição estamos interessados no "simple past", o "infinitive" corresponde à forma
presente do verbo. O "past participle" será visto no curso intermediário. Para passar da
forma afirmativa para a negativa no "simple past", utiliza-se o auxiliar "did" + "not".
Ex: I played chess last week. / I did not play poker last week.
Ex: We spent the weekend in Rio de Janeiro. / We did not spend the weekend in Salvador.
Ex: They didn't know anything about this. (Eles não sabiam nada sobre isso.)

falamos de coisas ou lugares usamos (of):
This is your coat and that is Peter's coat. / This is your coat and that is Peter's.
A forma abreviada de "is" (verbo To be) também é ('s). Um pouco de atenção fará com que
você não confunda estas duas regras gramaticais.
