Purpose: This procedure is used as work instruction for Boiler operator , Desk Engineer , Shift
Incharge.

Scope : This procedure explains the lineup , startup , shutdown , isolation of ID Fans.

Responsibility: Boiler “0” Mtr Operator, Desk Engineer, SWGR operator.

Procedure:
LINE UP PROCEDURE
1) No permit is pending.
2) All manholes in flue gas duct are closed.
3) DMCW pump is in service.
4) Lineup cooling water to lube oil. (Open DMCW supply, return valves.)
5) Lineup cooling water to Fan bearings (Open DMCW supply, return valves.)
6) Check for adequate oil level in bearing.
7) All instruments are lined up.
8) Inst. Air to IGV actuating power cylinder, Scoop operating power cylinder is open.
9) Fan Inlet and Outlet dampers are closed.
10) ESP inlet, outlet dampers are open. ( At least one pass )
11) Air heater inlet , outlet dampers are open .( On flue gas side)
12) Breaker is in service and in Remote.
13) Motor protection relay is healthy.
14) Charge VFD transformer.
15) Charge VFD panel
START UP :
1. On VFD panel
2. On DSU.
3. Keep VFD in minimum and IGV in closed position.
4. Start the ID fan.
5. Open inlet and outlet gates.
6. Load the fan by opening IGV and by increasing VFD.

SHUTDOWN:
1. Unload the fan by closing IGV and by reducing VFD.
2. Stop the fan.
3. Close inlet and outlet dampers

ISOLATION PROCEDURE

1) Ensure fan is OFF.

2) Rack out the breaker and switch OFF DC supply.
3) Switch OFF ID fan inlet and outlet dampers modules.
4) Switch OFF VFD transformer.
