 INTRODUCTION
As an experienced teacher in your home country you may have imagined teaching in a different class room, or another
city, perhaps even a new country.

So why not take your teaching career to a new level with the help of Vira International and its Teach USA program? This
program gives overseas experienced educators the opportunity to explore new educational and cultural environments
through full-time teaching positions.

Teacher exchanges enable educators to shape young people’s cultural perspectives through unique teaching
methodologies. Participating teachers gain exposure to American teaching methods while host schools bring the fresh
perspectives and valuable viewpoints of these participants into the U.S. classrooms.

Vira International, in collaboration with their US partners, can assist teachers who are quali ed individuals for full-time
paid teaching positions at accredited Kindergarten to 12th Grade schools, where a need for educators exists. We also
arrange work permits and visas through a US Department of State Designated Sponsor.

We Will Organize Everything for You-
We establish your placement in the USA with guidance on how
to build your professional resume, prepare for your interview,
and how best to present yourself to the host schools either in
person, at recruitment fairs in your home country or via Skype.
We will work with the schools to con rm offer of employment
and all necessary documentation that is required for your work
permit and Visa.
A dedicated Vira International consultant will provide step by
step guidance on obtaining U.S. sponsorship, medical insurance
and all the necessary information required for applying for a USA
Teachers J-1 Visa.
A comprehensive pre-departure orientation will be provided to
help your transition to life in USA. Assistance with airport pick-
up, as well as help in nding suitable accommodation, is
provided before departure. Upon arriving in the USA, you will
receive guidance and support in securing your Social Security
Number – and opening your USA Bank Account.
Within 12 months of application submission date for the
program, he/she must have completed an advanced degree
(beyond a degree equivalent to a U.S. Bachelor’s degree) in
Education or in an academic subject matter that he/she intends
to teach, or that is directly related to his/her teaching subject
eld;
Meet the quali cations for teaching at the primary- including
pre-kindergarten- or secondary levels in schools in his/her
home country;
Have had at least two years of full-time teaching experience
within the past eight years;
Possess, at a minimum, a degree equivalent to a U.S. bachelor’s
degree in either Education or the academic subject eld in
which he/she intends to teach;
Satisfy the teaching eligibility standards of the U.S. state in
which he/she will teach, including any required criminal
background or other background checks;

Comprehensive ongoing support while you are enjoying your
time working in the USA is assured by your sponsor.
What Qualifications or Experience Do I Need?
You must be working as a teacher in your home country
at the time of applying:
Meet the quali cations for teaching at the primary- including
prekindergarten- or secondary levels in schools in their home
country
Have at least two years of full-time teaching experience
OR, if not currently working as a teacher in his/her home
country at the time of applying, an exchange
teacher must :
*Please note that these activities will need to be documented upon completion. Your activities are as follows. For each activity, you may choose among many options:
Activity #1: Share your culture with Americans: teach a cooking
class, a sport, host a lecture or presentation, or talk about the
education or economic system in your country.
Be of good reputation and character; (clear criminal
background, positive professional reference letters attesting to
the teacher’s good reputation, character and teaching skills)
You will be required to demonstrate English language
pro ciency through TOEFL IBT. Min scores required 89 out of 120
(Speaking 24, Listening 22, Reading 22 and Writing 21)
Cross-Cultural Activity Component
The U.S. Department of State has initiated a mandatory cross-
cultural component to the program. This means that each
teacher is required to complete a minimum of two cultural
activities per academic year in the USA. This is a wonderful
opportunity for you to share your home country with your new
class, and vice versa!
Activity #2: Initiate dialogue between U.S. students and students in your
country: conduct a written letter exchange, email exchange, make a video
of your classroom to send to a school in your home country, or have your
class read the same book as a class in your home country.

NOTE : Vira International does not sponsor participants who have previously worked in the US on an H visa.

Program Duration -
Program may last up to three years. The State Department may
consider an extension this time for an additional two years (for a
maximum of ve years). The duration of each teaching program
is determined by the host school.

Upon completion, teachers must return to their home country

responsibility of your host school in the USA to assist you with
temporary or full-term accommodation.
Vira International Ltd. will not refund any money paid
if any one of the following events occur:
If your visa is denied at the U.S. consulate due to any criminal
offences or false in-formation provided.
If you fail the drug test once you have arrived in the USA.
If you decide to return to your home country prior to nishing
the entire program for any given reason.
If your training is terminated by your employer due to
misconduct.

Embassy as well as a copy of your passport page showing denial
to Vira International. We require receipt of the documents within
3 days to enable us to make the necessary fee refund. Failure to Date
