Dan Tehan MP Minister for Social Services Parliament House Canberra ACT 2600 Dear Ministé? » wn, am writing to express Labor's deep concern about the unfair Social Security (Assurance of Support) Determination which the Government has recently introduced. ‘These changes were made at the last possible moment, without any community consultation. This will have an impact on thousands of Australian families who have already applied for thi relatives to migrate. The new requirements are unreasonable and will unnecessarily punish hard workirig migrant families with the capacity to help their parents and relatives settle in Australia. It’s not fair to move the goalposts on people in this way. While Labor supports reasonable assurance of support requirements, we call on the Government to reverse this cruel decision and return to the previous Assurance of Support requirements.
