INTRODUCTION
Dear engineering aspirants,

JEE Advanced is the second stage of Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) for admission to one of the 23
prestigious Indian Institutes of Technology (IITs). From 2018, the top 2,24,000 candidates from JEE Main
would be eligible to take JEE Advanced for IIT admissions. But remember, you can only apply for the
coveted entrance exam for a maximum of 2 times, consecutively. So, if you don’t want to miss it, devise
a strategy and work hard.

Before starting any preparation efforts, it is imperative that the syllabus which is the starting point be
understood well and candidates know what they have to study. In addition a sound knowledge of the
exam pattern also helps.

What matters more in any competitive exam is a well-planned strategy that can help you get an entry
ticket to one of the IITs therefore Careers360 brings you Syllabus of JEE Advanced. The E-Book also
provides you tips regarding preparation strategy, important books for reference, latest exam pattern along

PREPARATION TIPS
●● Students should maximize their efforts and optimize their resources
●● First sit and analyse your strengths and weaknesses topic wise for the whole Syllabus. This will help pinpoint the weak
areas where you need more hard work than the others. It will also point out the strong points that you need to hold on to.
●● It is always suggested to keep the syllabus along with you while preparing to keep a continuous track of your progress and
to make sure you aren’t missing out on any topic.
●● While an aspirant should not miss any topic, no matter how small, there are some most important topics in each subject
for the advanced stage of the coveted engineering exam, which may give you an edge over others.
●● Keep a note of all your doubts and get them clarified regularly.
●● Revision is most crucial. Keep a track of the topics that you have studies and plan out a schedule to revise every topic you
study.
●● Solving sample papers will give you a better edge and the actual question paper won’t look like new to you.
●● Mock tests will play an important role in the last stages of preparation.
●● It is imperative for you to take as many mock tests or practice tests to accustom yourself to the JEE Advanced Paper Pat-
tern as well as revise the topics.
●● Schedule your day such that there is place for more than two mock tests.
●● Ensure “ME” time where you just relax doing what you like or simply do nothing and take rest.
●● Don’t lose heart or be disappointed if your performance is not excellent during the initial days. You can still catch up with
a few more attempts.
●● Keep yourself hydrated all the time and do not stress yourself.
●● Don’t lose heart or be disappointed if your performance is not excellent during the initial days. You can still catch up with
a few more attempts
●● Finally, make sure that the JEE Advanced admit Card and other materials are kept ready a week before the actual exam.
This allows you not to miss any important document or writing materials that are needed to appear for the exam.
