PRESENTATION

The present manual has been elaborated, revised, verified and institutionalized by a technical
and methodological work team, based on training plans that respond to the required
competencies to fulfill the tasks of the career and its processes.
It covers theoretical, procedural and attitudinal aspects, obtained through an exhaustive
research process in referential sources: manuals, books, guides and online resources.
Afterwards, the manual goes through an editing, style correction, and layout process to
guarantee copyright, attachment to language norms, and its pedagogical and methodological
relevance.
The manual is divided into six units or lessons:

The first lesson presents basic English vocabulary and basic IT concepts in English in simple
sentences.
The second lesson presents vocabulary about personal information and basic English verbs,
as well as basic IT verbs and words about technology. It also presents actions in the simple
present and third person to describe and ask about occupations.
The third lesson is about routines, schedules, time expressions, procedures and problem
solving expressions. It also presents sentences and questions in the simple present to ask about
third persons.
The fourth lesson presents office vocabulary and IT tasks combined with sentences about
actions in progress and questions to verify procedures.
The fifth lesson presents vocabulary about places in the city as well as IT related occupations.
It also helps learners identify permanent actions from temporary ongoing actions and verification
questions.
The sixth lesson is about entertainment, communications and verification processes, as well as
sentences and questions to ask about abilities, permission and possibility.
It is expected that the study of this manual arises interest and encourages learners to reach
their goals through effort and dedication to become competitive in working environments and to
