PHYSICAL EDUCATION LESSON PLAN

Activity: LEVEL # _1_ WEEK # __19__

GRADE LEVEL & NUMBER OF STUDENTS: Grade level: 1, Students: 27

TIME: 30 mins

EQUIPMENT: Parachute, balls/ bean bags, boombox/ speaker

OBJECTIVES:
 To learn to move in an evasive fashion.
 To work cooperatively with others in the parachute activity.
 To perform a variety of gallop and slide steps.
 To demonstrate body management skills by performing a variety of movements through
hoops.

CALIFORNIA PE STANDARDS:
Introductory Activity: 1.4 Change direction from forward and back and right and left in
response to tempos, rhythms, and signals while walking, running, hopping, and jumping (i.e.,
locomotor skills).
Fitness Activity: 2.5 Identify examples of underhand and overhand movement patterns.
Lesson Focus: 2.4 Distinguish between a jog and a run, a hop and a jump, and a gallop and a
slide and explain the key differences and similarities in those movements.
Game: 1.13 Catch, showing proper form, a gently thrown ball.

PART 1: INTRODUCTORY ACTIVITY (2-3 mins): Marking
