Which? ¿Cuál?
WHAT.- se utiliza generalmente, cuando se formula una pregunta en la que seleccionas algo entre una
cantidad ilimitada o elementos (cosas) desconocida. Ejemplo:
WHICH.- se emplea cuando se formula una pregunta en la que el número de elementos propuestos es limitado,
conocido o también para preguntar la preferencia que alguien tiene por determinado producto, actividad, comida etc.
Ejemplo: ESTRUCTURA
Which + nombre + auxiliar + sujeto + verbo
Which + t-shirt + do + you + prefer? ¿Qué camiseta te gusta más?
POSSESSIVE ADJECTIVES

Son utilizados para expresar pertenencia o posecion de algo.

Orden Adjetivo
REGLA:
En ingles al adjetivo siempre se lo ubica antes del sustantivo, nunca se lo pluraliza, si en la oración hay mas de un
adjetivo seguidos se debe de escribir y mencionar en el siguiente orden:
1. Talla - SIZE
2. Talla – SIZE; Color - COLOR
3. Diseño de la tela - PATTERN

El viste un sueter a cuadros
PRESENT CONTINUOUS O PROGRESSIVE.- es un tiempo verval que se lo utiliza para expresar acciones
que suceden en el mismo momento en que se esta hablando. Los verbos terminan en ing Ejemplo:
I am playing tennis – Estoy jugando al tenis.

REGLA:
Este tiempo verbal se construye utilizando la estructura del verbo TO BE + el verbo terminado en ing
SIMPLE PRESENT.- es un tiempo verval que se lo utiliza para describir acciones habituales que suceden con
cierta frecuencia y no hace referencia a si esta ocurriendo en el momento actual, es decir que son parte de nuestro
diario vivir. Ejemplo:
I play tennis – Juego al tenis

REGLAs:
en modo afirmativo para conjugar la tercera persona en modo afirmativo se agrega una S o ES al verbo según su
terminación.
en modo interrogativo y negativo se utiliza el auxiliar DO con execpcion de la tercera persona del singular que
se coloca como auxiliar DOES y se quita la S al verbo
WANT – QUERER, DESEAR, NECESITAR.- Usamos WANT para referirnos a la acción que queremos hacer.
NEED – NECESITAR, EXIGIR, RECLAMAR.- Usamos NEED para indicar lo que requerimos o necesitamos
hacer. Ejemplos:
En inglés no existen los verbos en futuro, sino que al agregar WILL, convertimos en futuro al verbo que le sigue,
pues WILL es una de las formas con las que se puede expresar el futuro en inglés. Ejemplo:
I will come to see you tonight. Vendré a verte esta noche.
En oraciones afirmativas y negativas will se lo ubica después del sujeto el verbo siempre estará en su forma base, es
decir que aún cuando la oración tenga como sujeto a alguna de las terceras personas del singular (he, she, it) el verbo
no tendrá ninguna alteración de su forma original. Ejemplo:
Afirmativas
Bill will finish this later. Bill terminará esto despues
This will be very easy. Esto sera muy facil
I will call you back. Yo te volveré a llamar
It will rain next week. Lloverá la semana que viene
Negativas
I won't sleep tonight. No dormiré esta noche.
They will not come. Ellos no vendrán.
You won't like it. No te gustará.
Simple past.- es el tiempo verbal que se utiliza para narrar o expresar hechos ocurridos o pasados. Ejemplo:
He did the homework Él hizo la tarea
He was playing soccer Estaba jugando al fútbol
She went to Italy Ella se fue a Italia
I played in classes Jugué en las clases
She played with her cousin Ella jugaba con su primo
Expresiones de tiempo.- si se quiere ser más específico se pueden usar algunas expresiones de tiempo que nos
permitirán reconocer mejor a una oración o pregunta en pasado, entre estas estan:
Last weekend último fin de semana
Last night Anoche
Yesterday Ayer
Last year el año pasado
Last month el mes pasado
Years ago hace años
Weekend ago fin de semana
Before antes
After después
This week esta semana
Noon mediodia
Verbos regulares.- en los verbos regulares el pasado se forma añadiendo la terminación ed o solo d al final del
verbo según la palabra y se mantiene la misma forma de escritura para todos los pronombres personales.
Verbos irregulars.- son aquellos que en tiempo pasado cambian su escritura, no tienen un marcador de pasado que
ayude a reconocerlos. Ejemplo:

Preguntas en pasado.- para formular preguntas (What = Qué, Where = Dónde) siempre se usa el verbo sea
regular e irregular en presente aún cuando estemos hablando o escribiendo en tiempo pasado; esto se debe a que el
auxiliar DID, que se lo ubica antes del sujeto, por sí solo indica que la pregunta está en pasado; únicamente la
respuesta a la pregunta cambia la estructura del verbo y no necesita del auxiliar. Ejemplos:

Cuando sueles ir al gimnasio? ¿Cuándo fuiste al gimnasio?
I usually go to the gym on weekends. I went to the gym last weekend.
Normalmente voy al gimnasio los fines de semana. La semana pasada fui al gimnasio.
When does Maggie usually visit her parents? When did Maggie visit her parents?
¿Cuando Maggie generalmente visita sus padres? ¿Cuándo visitó Maggie a sus padres?
She visits her parents on Friday. She visited her parents yesterday.
Ella visita a sus padres el viernes Ella visitó a sus padres ayer.
What time do they usually eat lunch? What time did they eat lunch?
¿A qué hora generalmente comen almuerzo? ¿A qué hora comieron ellos el almuerzo?
They usually eat lunch at 1:30. They ate lunch at 1:30
Ellos por lo general comen el almuerzo en 1:30. Ellos comieron el almuerzo en 1:30
What time does he usually listen to the news? What time did he listen to the news?
¿A qué hora por lo general escucha él a las noticias? ¿A qué hora escuchó él a las noticias?
He listens to the news at 7:00 pm. He listened to the news at 7:00 pm
Él escucha a las noticias a las 19h00. Él escuchó a las noticias a las 19h00
Ejemplos:
She got married before she came to the U.S. Ella se casó antes de llegar a los EE.UU.
She got married after she came to the U. S. Ella se casó después de que ella llegó a la U. S.
She got married last year Ella se casó el año pasado
She got married this week Ella se casó esta semana
When did you take French classes? I took French classes in 2005.
¿Cuándo tomó usted clases de frances? Tomé clases de francés en 2005.
When did he get his first job? He got his first job in 1996.
¿Cuándo consiguió él su primer trabajo? Él consiguió su primer trabajo en 1996.
En oraciones afirmativas utilice have to + verbo con: I, You, We, They; y has to + verbo con las terceras personas
del singular: He, She, It. Ejemplo:

He has to go El tiene que ir
She has to go Ella tiene que ir

We have to go Tenemos que ir
You have to go Ustedes tienen que ir

En las preguntas se mantien el modal have to, el único que cambia es el uso del auxiliar, pues para: I, You, We, They
se utiliza do y con las terceras personas del singular: He. She. It se utiliza does. Ejemplo:

What do I have to do? ¿Que tengo que hacer?
What do You have to do? ¿Qué tiene que usted hacer?
What does He have to do? ¿Qué tiene que él hacer?
What does She have to do? ¿Qué tiene que ella hacer?
What does It have to do? ¿Qué tiene que hacer?
What do We have to do? ¿Qué tenemos que hacer?
What do You have to do? ¿Qué tienen que ustedes hacer?
What do They have to do? ¿Qué tienen que ellos hacer?
SHOULD = DEBE
Should.- es un modal aplicable en temas de salud para proporcionar sugerencias o consejos.
Para preguntas se mantiene la siguiente estructura:

What should I do? ¿Qué deberia yo hacer?
What should You do? ¿Qué debería usted hacer?
What should He do? ¿Qué debería él hacer?
What should She do? ¿Qué debería ella hacer?
What should It do? ¿Qué debería esto hacer?
What should We do? ¿Qué deberíamos nosotros hacer?
What should You do? ¿Qué deberían usted hacer?
What should They do? ¿Qué deberían ellos hacer?
En oraciones positivas como negativas se utiliza la siguiente estructura, también para las oraciones negativas se
puede utilizar la contracción SHOULD NOT = SHOULDN'T = NO DEBE

Ejemplos:
How often do you take the bus? I take the bus three times a week.
¿Con qué frecuencia toma el bus? Tomar el autobús tres veces por semana.
How often does Susan drive her car? She drives her car every day.
¿Con qué frecuencia conduce su coche Susan? Ella conduce su coche cada día.
How often do they play soccer? They play soccer every weekend.
¿Con qué frecuencia juegan fútbol? Juegan fútbol cada fin de semana.
How often does your brother go to the dentist? He goes twice a year.
¿Con qué frecuencia tu hermano va al dentista? Va dos veces al año.
HOW LONG.- se utiliza para preguntar sobre el tiempo que se demora en desorrollar una actividad. Se utiliza la
fraces de tiempo:
About five minutes unos cinco minutos
A half hour una media hora
One hour una hora
An hour and ten minutes una hora y diez minutos
A long time un largo tiempo
Ejemplos:
How long does it take to go to downtown? It takes 10 minutes.
¿Cuánto tiempo se tarda en ir al centro? Se tarda 10 minutos.
How long does it take for you to do your homework? I take one hour.
¿Cuánto tiempo se tarda para que hagas tu tarea? Tomar una hora.
How long does it take for her to make a cake? She takes 15 minutes.
¿Cuánto tiempo se tarda para que hacer un pastel? Toma 15 minutos.
En oraciones con otros verbos se los ubica después del sujeto. Ejemplos:

Superlativos.- son adjetivos que usamos cuando queremos resaltar el mas alto grado de cualidad que algo o
alguien posee, dentro de un grupo. Ejemplos:
The Mount Everest is the highest mountain. El monte Everest es la montaña más alta.
He’s the richest man in the city. Es el hombre más rico de la ciudad.

CONJUNCTIONES AND, OR, BUT = CONJUNCIONES Y, O, PERO
CONJUNCTIONS.- son empleadas para enlazar palabras y básicamente oraciones entre sí y son: AND, OR y BUT.
AND.- Une dos ideas similares. Ejemplo:
We will visit Italy and France during our next vacation. We will visit Italy and France during our next vacation.
CAN.- es un verbo modal que significa 'poder'. Se utiliza para expresar habilidad, permiso.
Questions
Can Peter speak German? ¿Puede/sabe Peter hablar alemán?
Can you help me with my homework? ¿Me puedes ayudar con mi tarea?
Affirmative
I can play the trumpet. Yo puedo/sé tocar la trompeta.
We can take a taxi to the airport. Podemos tomar un taxi hasta el aeropuerto.
Negative
I can not swim. No puedo/sé nadar
That cannot be true. Eso no puede ser cierto.
COULD.- es un verbo modal pasado de CAN que significa: podría, pude, podía, pudiera de acuerdo con el contexto.
Se utiliza para expresa poca probabilidad o condicionalidad. Ejemplo:

Could you open the window? ¿Pudiste/podrías abrir la ventana?
Could they escape? ¿Pudieron/podrían escapar?
Affirmative
You could be wrong. Podrías estar equivocado.
They could manage without us. Ellos pudieron/podrían arreglárselas sin nosotros.
Negative
I couldn't see very clearly. Yo no pude/podría ver muy claramente.
Mrs. Jones couldn't stand the smell. La señora Jones no pudo/podría soportar el olor.
WILL.- es un verbo modal que significa quere, voluntad se lo utiliza para expresar una prediccion hacia el futuro.

Will you help me? ¿Me ayudarás?
Will you wait for me? Me esperaras?
Affirmative
It's hot, I think I will go to the beach. Hace calor, creo que iré a la playa.
Peter will come today. Pedro vendrá hoy.
I will help you tomorrow. Yo te ayudaré mañana.
Negative
I won't go to the beach today. Hoy no iré a la playa. (lo decide en el momento de hablar)
Peter won't come today. Pedro no vendrá hoy.
She won't help you. Ella no te ayudará. (predicción)
WOULD.- es el pasado de will en algunos casos y verbo auxiliar en otros. Convierte en potencial al verbo que le
sigue y va seguido del verbo en forma base.
Questions
Would he give Patty a diamond ring? ¿Él le daría a Patty un anillo de diamantes?
Would you mind? ¿Te importaría?
Affirmative
I would go to the party. Yo iría a la fiesta.
You would feel better. Te sentirías mejor.
Negative
She would not be happy. Ella no sería feliz.
We wouldn't spend all the money. No gastaríamos todo el dinero.
ESTRUCTURA
Subject + Verb + Indirect Object + Direct Object
Helen + gave + Mathew + a gift. Helen dio un regalo a MAteo
Martha + sent + her husband + a love-letter. Martha envió a su marido una carta de amor.
Susan + bought + her son + a toy horse. Susan le compró a su hijo un caballo de juguete.
También pueden ser presentados de otra forma en la que se invierte la ubicación del objeto indirecto y directo; es
decir, después del verbo se menciona el objeto directo y luego el indirecto, en ese caso es imprescindible usar la
preposición to o for para separar estos dos tipos de objetos. Ejemplos:
ESTRUCTURA

Tin + gave + a present + to + Mary. Tim dio un regalo a Maria
Tin + bought + a present + for + her. Tim compró un regalo para ella.
