FACULTY OF ENGINEERING & TECHNOLOGY

DEPARTMENT OF MECHANICAL ENGINEERING

Course: Basic Manufacturing Processes

Course Code: ME 107

Course Coordinator: Vikrant Sharma

This course provides a broad introduction to manufacturing processes. The first part covers
basics of material properties and materials. In the second part, all types of manufacturing
processes including conventional, non-conventional, electronics and assembly processes are
introduced.

Intro to Manufacturing Technology is a broad exploratory course that introduces students to the
manufacturing industry. Though hands ‐ on activities students will learn how manufactures use
technology to change raw materials into finished products. The course will include: a brief
history of manufacturing, social impacts, types of manufacturing production, properties of
materials, manufacturing processes, safe use of tools and equipment.

Objective
Know about the basic Physical, Chemical remembering,
Properties of materials understanding
Explain why some material(s) are better to be
used in a product for given design understanding
requirements
Learn the basic operation of various remembering,
