For spiral wound and flexible graphite based gaskets, the gasket contact
surfaces shall have concentric or spiral grooves, resulting in a
roughness height within the range of 3.2-6.3 μm Ra (smooth finish) in
accordance with ASME B46.1.
Top entry and side entry manways shall be provided with a davit.
Side entry manways shall have internal handgrips and ladder rungs in
accordance with Company Specifications.
For high-strength carbon steel and low alloy steel bolting, minimum
coatings or approved non-metallic coatings are permitted.
All vessels shall be designed for a future field hydrostatic test in the
erected and corroded condition and will be tested in accordance with
ADMA-OPCO PRO- 110 Part 2
The shop hydrostatic test pressure shall be 1.3 times the calculated new and
cold Maximum Allowable Pressure (M.A.P.).
Hoop stress in any part of the vessel shall not exceed 90 percent of the
minimum yield strength of the material multiplied by the joint efficiency.
