Vessels shall be designed with regards to transportation loads exerted

during towing from the fabrication
yard to the installation site (Refer ADMA-OPCO Design Criteria for fixed
Offshore Steel Structure SP-!030
Rev.2000) (Draft)”.

Design life equipment 30 years

Contractor shall evaluate the using of ASME VIII Div.2 as design code
when economically justified. The following guidelines shall be used to
determine when ASME VIII Div.2 should be considered:
a. When the nominal thickness of the vessel shell or heads exceeds 50
mm, irrespective of design pressure, materials, or service.
b. When the erected weight of the vessel, (excluding removable
internal and external attachments) exceeds 90 Tones .
c. For vessels with design pressures 10 MPa (1450 psi) and larger,
irrespective of service and materials of construction.

Wind design shall be in accordance with ASCE 7 and design wind

speeds stated in ADMA- OPCO STD 00 Part 2.

Nozzle flange accordance with ADMA STD-108

Rating and facing of flanged nozzles shall be in accordance with ASME

B16.5 and to ADMA OPCO STD 108.

For spiral wound and flexible graphite based gaskets, the gasket contact
surfaces shall have concentric or spiral grooves, resulting in a
roughness height within the range of 3.2-6.3 μm Ra (smooth finish) in
accordance with ASME B46.1.

Minimum gasket thickness is 3.2 mm.

Horizontal and vertical vessels shall be provided with a minimum of two

manways, one for access and one for ventilation.

Top entry and side entry manways shall be provided with a davit.
Side entry manways shall have internal handgrips and ladder rungs in
accordance with Company Specifications.

Base plate bearing stress, Anchor bolt minimum diameter, allowable

design stresses and material shall be in accordance with ADMA OPCO
SP-1051

For high-strength carbon steel and low alloy steel bolting, minimum
coatings or approved non-metallic coatings are permitted.

For large diameter vessel, internal organic non-metallic coatings may be

applied as an alternative (e.g. Glass flake epoxy etc) considering the
following:
a. The coating shall meet the upper operating/design temperatures.
b. The coating shall have the required anti-explosion decompression
properties.
c. The application of the coating is considered practical.

Stress on vessel shell due to saddle supports shall be checked in

accordance with BS PD 5500 Appendix G.

All pressure and non-pressure welds shall be visually inspected where

accessible. All segments of longitudinal, circumferential or built-up
head pressure weld seams covered or rendered inaccessible by
internals, lifting lugs or other attachments shall be fully radiographed
the entire affected length plus 25 cm (10 inches) either side prior to installation of the
attachment.

All vessels shall be designed for a future field hydrostatic test in the
erected and corroded condition and will be tested in accordance with
ADMA-OPCO PRO- 110 Part 2

The shop hydrostatic test pressure shall be 1.3 times the calculated new and
cold Maximum Allowable Pressure (M.A.P.).
Hoop stress in any part of the vessel shall not exceed 90 percent of the
minimum yield strength of the material multiplied by the joint efficiency.

The minimum hydrostatic test time required is at least 1 hour per 25

mm wall thickness with one hour minimum.
