Human Conflict In The US

The Overview

Human Conflict is a group of two or more people fight or arguing about something important to

them. It exists everywhere and it happens everyday with the news talking about the new mass shooting, a

cop doing something wrong, and with hatred all around us. There really isn’t any history behind human

conflict because they would have to go to the beginning of time. Tracing the world of violence and war

throughout history with America exploring racism, ethnic conflicts, the rise of terrorism, and the

possibility of having more mass shooting in the future. Human conflict doesn’t really have a specific

group of people because it happens to everyone. One of the deadliest mass shootings in the US was on

October 1, 2017 in Las Vegas, Nevada Stephen Paddock killed 58 people and wounded nearly 500 on the

32nd floor of the Mandalay Bay Resort and Casino. Witnesses said that the gunshots lasted between 10 to

15 minutes. Afterwards police found that Paddock’s committed suicide. Authorities guessed that he acted

alone and left it at that. Another example was the second deadliest mass shooting in America was on June

12, 2016. Omar Saddiqui Mateen opened fire on Pulse, a gay nightclub in Orlando. He killed 49 and

injured more than 50 people that day. Police then proceeded to find hostages in the club and shoot and kill

Mateen. Pulse to this day is now closed forever and is a memorial for the people that died that tragic day.

Different Perspective

One of the main causes of human conflict is poor communication. When people are mad and

angry they tend not to listen to the other people reasoning. They tend to stick with there ideas and stay
with them. Another reason is that people are scared of change. It's 2018 and change is everywhere, these

day there is less discrimination with people. Black people can finally have equal rights, Women can

finally vote, and the LGBTQ+ community can finally get married in peace. The world has changed so

much over time an a lot of people hate that so they decide to have a different opinion and fight against it.

Finding new ways to try to stop change, to change the change, and to fix change. They don't understand

that this is something that must happen in every era. A lot of people don't see Human conflict as a

problem. They see it as a solution to a problem. In 1964 the Civil rights act was given to all black people.

The civil rights movement gave black Americans equality in America. On August 18 ,1920 the protests

stop when the 19th Amendment was made. It gave American women the right to vote and ended women's

suffrage. On 2003 Massachusetts was the first state to allow gay marriage and many more states came

after like Alabama, Alaska, Arizona, California, Colorado, Connecticut, Delaware, Florida, Hawaii,

Idaho, Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Kansas, Maine, Maryland, Massachusetts, Minnesota, Montana, Nevada,

new hamster, New Jersey, New Mexico, New York, North Carolina, Oklahoma, Oregon, Pennsylvania,

Rhode Island, South Carolina, Utah, Vermont, Virginia, Washington, West Virginia, Wisconsin and

Wyoming. 13 states more and the USA will allow gay marriage everywhere.

Possible Existing Solutions

Trying to find a solution to human conflict is impossible people cannot solve human conflict with

one action. It need to have a long process of actions to happen and if society is lucky enough it can be

solved. But at the moment it's impossible! Solving big problems like mass shooting seems to be a little

easier. In the US normally Americans can buy a gun at some conventions were they don't need to fill out a

form or sometime even show ID. America can at least try to improve there gun laws so people can be safe

but in recent studies showing that there are 7 mass shootings each week there seems to be little

happening. This suggestion is different because since America has the law stating anyone can bear arms

it's hard to make changes in this particular subject or ban them all. Senator Howard Metzenbaum said it

this way “ if you don't ban all guns you might as well ban none of them”. Hopefully in the future buying

gun in America won't be that easy. There will be stricter laws saying things you can and cannot do with
the gun there will be more tests for the person buying the gun and do more safety precautions. People will

need to bring a license and there will be no more gun shows sells.

Barriers to Existing Solutions

Banning guns in the US will never happen only because they has 325 million guns. If they tried

the Australian ban which is basically banning all guns that are semi automatic the US will be left with 200

million guns. And that's only if all citizens comply, some can deny to give there gun to an officer because

everyone has the rights to bear arms. The group that has a stronger case would of course be letting guns

be. Yes people can ban some guns that are really not needed in American like the Ar 15 assault rifle. Who

need that type of gun? It's not a great self defense gun and not a great hunting gun so Why need it? But

other then some minor changes that can go a long way and help America

Ways to address the barriers

The best solution for human conflict is to have more communication to one another. This tends to

be a number one problem human conflict in the world one of the big ones is the shootings over solution to

this could be very easy all we need to do is make some minor changes as in having more safety tests

towards these guns having a prior knowledge of what these guns can do Andrea instructing laws on these

guns. I do believe we should ban some guns like the AR 15 assault rifle like this gun and many more it's

not really needed it in America. I really think that this could be a big deal in America. If we change one

thing many things can lead to the another and another and there can be a change in the world. I would also

like to add. We are all humans, why fight? We all have our way and have goals in this world so why do

we discriminant others for there race, religion, gender, and education. First I would like to define ‘Human

Conflict’ in the article ‘Human Conflict: Winning in Peace’ It explains that Human conflict is has been

with us for ages. Through our history of violence, wars, exploring racism, ethnic conflicts, terrorism, and

much more in the future. This is mostly all about competition and grouping. Who is the best and how can

this be considered not normal. I believe that America does do this and it can cause conflict.
