AIMS:
 Students will be able to describe paintings – the objects in the painting,
colours and shades (can be adapted according to language level of
students).
 Students will be able to make sentences with prepositions.
 Student will be able to understand vocabulary related to the topic.
LANGUAGE FOCUS:
Structure:Usage of Prepositions
Vocabulary: Behind, in, on, under, inside, in front of, next to, near, between,
below, above.
MATERIALS :
 Handouts, Laptop, Projector, Pictures

PROCEDURE:
T: Teacher, Sts: Students

Warm-up
 Teacher greets students
3-4’  T makes a brief introduction to
the unit
Activity I
 T starts the topic by asking
questions about Dali.
 T then shows some of the
paintings of Dali
 T then reads out the description
aloud and then asks of the
10’ students to draw it according to
the passage.
 T then shows the descriptions
and points out the prepositions
in the passage.

Activity II
 T asks students what they know
about prepositions.
 T draws the “Mind map” and
tells the prepositions.
 T introducuces the next activity
10’ (speaking and listening) one
student describes the painting
and the other one tries to draw
the painting
 T gives empty sheets of paper
and sheets of the same painting
 T roams and monitors the class
while students are doing the
activity, takes notes of their
mistakes
 Finally teacher evaluates the
students and gives feedback

 T introduces the writing activty
to sts with a new painting.
