Pancake Breakfast & Easter
Egg Hunt a Hopping Success!

About 20 children and their

families participated in the Easter
festivities this year. The youth
group cooked up a breakfast fit for a
king and then went to work hiding
eggs. Meanwhile, Greg Lawrence
captivated the younger audience by telling them all about
the miracle of Easter. With hundreds of candy- and
treat-filled eggs to collect, everyone went home with a
full basket, a full tummy, and a full heart. Thanks to all
of our volunteers who made this such a fun day.

Graduation Sunday is May 17
And they’re off… No, we’re not
talking about horses. We’re referring
to Pisgah’s graduates who are
preparing to embark on a new chapter in
their lives. Whether it’s college or a new
career, help us send them off in fine
fashion as we recognize their achievement on Sunday,
May 17. Graduates will be featured in a brief
presentation during the opening portion of morning
worship. After church, we’ll ask them to stay long
enough to receive congratulations and well wishes from
their church family. Join us for this special time of
celebration.
People are encouraged to wear red on the day of
Pentecost which is Sunday, May 31.
Burnamwood Summer Camps
It’s time to start thinking about
summer camps at Burnamwood.
For a complete listing of the various
camp dates, visit

Kindred (873-1887). Up to 50% of camp tuition will be
covered for all Pisgah campers. Be watching for a
signup poster in the Academy Building later this month.
Pisgah Bible Camp
Pisgah Bible camp is
June 7 thru June 11, from
5:45 to 8:15 p.m. We are in
need of 40 light colored
plain pillow cases, and 10
light colored plain flat twin
sheets. If you have any of
these to donate, please leave them in the academy
building. We are also in need of KIDS! If you have a
grandchild, a niece, a nephew, a neighbor's child or a
friend, please invite them to Bible Camp. If you are
available to join us, we are looking for teachers, actors,
help in the kitchen and many other things. Please join
us. We are looking forward to having a fun filled week.

Youth Sunday is Coming Up
Youth Sunday will be May 10 (this is also Mother’s
Day for those of you who need a little reminder!).
Mary Shepherd Circle
The Mary Shepherd Circle would like to invite all
women of the church to a luncheon which will be held at
Equestrian Woods Country Club, Tuesday, June 2, at
12:00 noon. We welcome this opportunity for fellowship
and hope that everyone will be able to join us.
Reservations need to be made by Friday, May 22 by
contacting Dottie Schmidt (873-4730) or Wanda Rodgers
(873-9411). The cost for the luncheon is $16.00, checks
made payable to Pisgah Women of the Church.

following the recent death of my mother, Elizabeth
Fields. I would also like to say thank you for the
thoughts and prayers that were sent her way in the past
few years. It means a lot to know that you all care.

Greetings from Georgia
Hello to our friends at Pisgah from the Straubs in St.
Marys, Georgia. We didn't realize until last summer that
many of you were unaware we'd picked up and moved to
the Georgia coast in August, 2007. St. Marys is the last
stop on the East Coast along I-95 before entering
Florida, and the second oldest city in the U.S. after St.
Augustine. Some folks stop here long enough to visit
Cumberland Island, which has a herd of wild horses and
is designated as a National Seashore. Kings Bay
Submarine Base is located here.
We moved mostly so that our youngest daughter,
Julie, could attend the local schools, which have an
excellent program for special needs children. Many of
you remember Julie as a child, but she's now an eighth
grader!

Daniel, our eldest, joined the Marines after
graduation and has completed two tours of duty in Iraq.
He also got married while on leave last fall, to Jessica
Ehn, a Woodford County girl. They are living on the
Marine base in Hawaii. His enlistment ends this August.
Daniel may then join the Coast Guard, or start college.
We were able to keep our home in Versailles. Amy,
our other daughter, has been living there, working, and Happy Birthday to You in May
attending U.K. This spring, she also moved to Georgia
and is enrolled at the community college in Brunswick, 1 Taylor Johnson
