Chapter 1
Background study

Adult smoking has it's roots in young adolescence. If individuals do not

initiate smoking during this period it is unlikely they never will. In high
income countries, smoking rates among indigenous youth are
disproportionately high, however, despite a wealth of literature in other
populations, there is less evidence on the determine of smoking initiation
among indigenous youth.

In present generation, some of young adolescents are engaging in

cigarette smoking. Some of them, why are they use a cigarette, because
of their parents or should It says being rebels to their parents. Engaging in
using cigarette is too bad, because you will get disease like, Emphysema,
gangrene, mouth cancer, throat cancer, neck cancer.
Tabacco use is a global epidemic among young people. As with adults, it's
poses a serious health threat to youth and young adults in the united states
and has significant Implications for this nations public and economic
health in the future.
(Perry et.al. 1994: kessler 1995)

Despite thousands of programs to reduce youth smoking and hundreds of,

thousands of media stories on the dangers of Tabacco use, generation
after generation continues to use the deadly production.
Statement of the problem
*what are the reason of teenagers in smoking in early age?
*what are the effects of smoking?

Significance of the study :

 This study is important because it will be awareness of long time
Users of Cigarette Smoking .
 This studies may help other teenagers to not use this called
cigarette , that may destroy their body and Make their life Shorter.
Scope and Delimitation of the Study:
this research only focused on the reasons of students in cigarette smoking.
The population of this study is only in CDCNHS school of Malimpec,
Malasiqui, pangasinan. It will be have 3 questionnaire every respondents.
Definition of terms:
Smoking- the gaseous product of burning materials especially of organic origin
made visible by the presence of small particles of
carbon

Cigarette -a slender roll of cut tobacco enclosed in paper and meant to be smoked
also: a similar roll of other substance ( as marijuana)

Study of Literature

According to American legacy foundation, certain racial/ethnic Groups;

Lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender individuals; and people with
mental illness are more likely to initiate tobacco use and struggle to quit
smoking.
These groups are more likely to suffer from tobacco-related disease and
Death.

Aboriginal and Torres strait islander people suffer the worst health of any
population group in Austrilian having a burden of a disease estimated to
be two and half time that of the Austrilian pupolation (Austrilian bureau
of statistics 2010)

Tobacco smoking in particular has been identified as the most prevented

cause of premature death among indigenous Australians (brigg.et
al.,2003)

Whilst in the general population of Austrilian, smoking rates have

declined from approximately 24% in 1991 to 15% in 2010
(Austrilian institution of health and welfare)

Methodology

Research Design
This research is used to conduct this study entitled to know the common reasons of
teenagers who angaging in Cigarette smoking in Malimpec Malasiqui, pangasinan
This study is Semi-structured that asking a questionnaire about this topic direct to the
respondents.

Location of the study:

This research is Qualitative , choosing respondents that We know he/she using
cigarette then we asked them if they want to be our respondent if yes we started to
interview.

Respondents Study:
We made Interview of teenager of Malimpec, Malasiqui, pangasinan . The
respondents ages range from 14-17 years old. After choosing, each of them given a
interview questionnaire.

Subject of the Study

-this study will be conducted in our school by the help of our respondents.
First observation, and I saw a Students that Using a cigarette. And then what will be
our topic and then we read a sample research that may connected to our topic
And then we interview our chosen respondents and combine their Answer.

Data Gathering Instruments

-consist of 3 questionnaire and For the Respondents We interview them one by One.
Everyday 1 respondents to interview.
1. How old are you when you start to smoke?
2. How frequent you smokein a day? What usual time you smoke?
3. For you what are the benefits of smoking?

Respondents of the study

-the respondents of this methods is 3 and this are the 3 boys teenager that angaging in
smoking.
CDCNHS conducted in Malimpec, Malasiqui, pangasinan

Chapter 5

Summary of Findings:

Our respondents start to smoke in early age like the first respondents he start at 8
years old than the two respondents. They can used a more 5 sticks in a day.
They use cigarette to entertain them self oR their Past time when they bored. For them
to smoke is to feel them good.

Conclusions:
-the following conclusions we're formulated based on the findings of the study and
presented.

1. The early age that angaging in smoking is 8 years old

2. In that time he influence of his friend and because of their curiousity he try once
but he hard to stop and now he addicted to smoke until now

3. For that age smoking brings for them a joy and to entertain. And they will forget
their problem.

Recommendation:
We will conduct a Meeting and talk to the captain of Brgy. Malimpec to set a meeting to all people
especially has store . And we will talk to them that Don't sell a Cigarette to the student. Specially
the story that near in school
And we will discuss what will get in long time User of cigarette
