The interview took place at Amity, Noida. It was for 2016 batch. The criteria was 70% in the
current degree. We had to sit in the interviews directly. They took 1 or more rounds of technical
rounds but there was only one HR round.

The company works in Networking and OS so be prepared with the topics thoroughly.

The questions in the interview were from C language. No java or any other language was asked,
so beware.

Q. Swap two numbers without temp variable.

Q. Without the use of mathematical operators.

Answer: Swap the numbers using addition, subtraction or multiplication, division.

Q. Use bit wise XOR "^" operator for the second question.

Q. Different layers of OSI and TCP model. (As the company is involved in networking).

Answer drew the layers and explained them.

Q. Where does re transmission of packets take place? (Tell the layer).

Answer: Network layer.

Q. Difference between multitasking and multi programming.

Answer: Multi programming opening different apps at a time. Multitasking accessing different
tabs in a browser. Different threads of a program.

Q. WAP in C which does not compile in C++. WAP in C which does not run in C++.

The interviewer was calm and friendly. Do not become excessively casual. Remain calm and try
to answer all the questions.

2. CMOS based NAND gate is given with one input passed through transmission gate find the
issues in circuit.

3. Setup and hold time based on numerical.

4. Thevenin's theorem based one question.

5. Significance of Q factor.

6. Design a D flip flop using 2:1 mux.

7. One question on VHDL coding.

8. On question on the basis of amdahl's law.

9. Find switching activity of XOR gate.

10. Design a 3 bit counter that count no.of 0's and 1's in serial data stream.

INTERVIEW.

Read basic of sequential circuits and very important topic is SET up and hold time.

Here Freescale visited recently on 3 Oct 2013 with minimum cgpa 8.

This year they were looking for far less number as they were on last year.

12 questions were asked total 80 marks paper each question had diff weight-age.

1. Op-amp based question : 2 op-amps both non inverting, share common input (+ive to one -ve
end of input to other) , inverting terminal shorted to ground, having positive feed back and series
resistance also, generate the output waveform with sine input and output of both op-amp was
given to and gate. 10 marks I think.

2. Simple thevenin circuit problem. 4marks.

Also series RLC circuit with same are but different bandwidth, why with reason.(depends on
quality factor varies inversely to c and directly to l) 4 marks.

3. Shannon hartley theorem based question and snr based i.e. SNR = 6n
+1.76. Find no of levels 'n' 10 marks.

4. cmos circuit with transmission gate control, find the issue (was floating at some point and
limiting voltage issue I. E vgs-vtn) 5 marks.

5. Find the glitch in combinational circuit. 4 marks.

6. Transition probability for ex-or gate 10 marks.

7. Design a counter that counts zeros and ones. 8 marks.

8. Verilog based question.

9. Problem on cache (what I remember is power was asked and two solution were given for the
problem in cache design which is better).

10. Simple d flip flop from 2:1 mux 5 marks.

11. Simple minterms calculation from circuit and reduction with k-map. 5 marks.

12. Find the set up time violations from input to first register with clock skew and input is 10
nanosec. Delayed w.r.t. Clock. . Here one thing new was that wiring delay was also given like. 4
ns. 10 marks.

All marking are just what I remembered may carry 2-3 marks more or less.

What I will suggest is just go fresh minded even if you have prepared a lot you might put in your
more effort while solving but they need is straight forward answer in written paper specially, don't
be elaborative.

Study digital electronics, waveform drawing, digital design.

Just go relaxed because sometime question asked is simple but requires your concentration (i.e.
On time analysis capability) which we loses in between because of stress and in hurry to get
selected.

As my friend always told me "don't quit in between" i.e go slowly till the end time they ask you to
just hand over your sheet. Generally what we do at end is, let it go enough is done.

Hi Friends

1. Y=A.C+B.C(bar) the gate implementation was given.

How can this circuit is implemented by latch?

Ans:- Simple, this is simple 2:1 MUX Where A,B are inputs
And C is select pin or clock.

In Latch if clock is low its maintain output as its previous stage means no change.
So if connect output Y to A. then this is implemented by latch.

2. Set up time, hold time related 1 question.

3. Set up time, hold time was given and some delay in b/w
Max freq.=1/(transition delay+setup time) No hold time.

4. NAND circuit was implemented by MOS....Response was asked?

5. Power dissipation=V^2*f*C(load cap)

6. Delay =(1/W by L ratio)*Vth*C(load)

7. Two buffer ckt were given what is the difference b/w them?

8. CMOS inverter main yadi PMOS and NMOS ko interchange ker de to bo buffer bun jata hai.

9. Three ckts of inverter was give in which they asked about power dissipation....with ON time
was 40% while off time 60%.
A. Simple CMOS inverter. B. Res was connected to VDD and PMOS
C. NMOS Connected to VDD and res.
So less on ckt was PMOS BECOZ ON TIME WAS 40% SO less power diss compare to C. While
 in A no res so very less power dissipation.
