LBYBUS1 (1ST TERM AY 2015- 2016))


GROUP PROJECT # 1 
MS FrontPage Title : WORLD-WIDE-WEB PROJECT
- 4 students in a group

Objective: The objective of this project is to allow the DSI student to put into
practice the techniques learned in developing WWW pages, and to
be able to provide information on a particular
topic in the Internet.

Description:

A. For Web Page Design

You are required to use the MS FrontPage software for developing a WWW
homepage (Group's Personal Web Page) with at least the following contents:

 Personal Homepage for each group member


 A centered header containing the home page name
 A horizontal ruler (line)
 A numbered list or bulleted list
 Images
 E-mail address of webmaster (the one who will be maintaining this web page)
 At least three (3) links to other related resources (http, gopher, ftp, telnet) on
the Internet. This can include DLSU home page, other local pages, or
international pages (most preferred)
 Scanned pictures
 Animation pictures
 Background Music
 Public Forums
 Chat Forum
 Discussion Group
 Marquee
 Hit Counter
 Pictures with Hyperlink
 Thumb Photo Gallery
 Frames – for table of contents
 Search
 FAQs
 Feedback Form
 Guestbook
 Navigation bar
 LBYBUS1 course / class and LBYBUS1 professor

The above content is only the minimum required. You may arrange it in any
way you want as long as it professionally presented. You may also supplement
the site with any other material you wish. Lastly, you are also required to upload
your web page in WWW free web (e.g. Geocities, Angelfire, etc). Test your
homepage (s) and all the links to make sure they are all in working order.

B. For Documentation

The cover page should follow the format of the Project Title Page

Table of Contents:
I. Introduction
- background of the study and also discusses the Hardware and Software
requirements (hardware and physical limits)
II. Description of your web page
- discuss all the features in detailed
III. Publishing Web Pages
- discuss how you uploaded your web pages
IV. Implementing Issues
- technical problems that you foresee. (problems encountered)
V. Conclusion and Findings
- discuss the group’s observation
VI. Recommendation
- improvement for future implementations

User’s Manual

Methodology

To be able to achieve the stated objectives, you should at least perform the
following:
1. Research and follow the guidelines on Web Page Development Process
2. Gather relevant materials on your assigned topics (Support with Interviews
and Customer Requirements)
3. Study other home pages in the Internet to aid you in the design of your own
home page
Research on other home pages (e.g. , universities, companies, service
providers) in the Internet to come up with the resources.
4. Research on additional materials in the Internet regarding techniques on
how to set up your own WWW pages.

Deliverables:

You can show your work as early as possible, and this will enable us to view your
partial home pages, and provide suggestion and recommendations to further
improve your design, if needed.

On October 1 (Thursday) at the beginning of class, I should have received the


following:
 Topic and Preliminary Title
 Topic Outline of your WebPage (with a short brief discussion of each sub-
topic)
 Sample Layout

 Submit the STAPLED (NOT paper clipped) bond paper WITHOUT folder nor
envelope

Note: You will be informed in our next class session on the status of your topic /
outline (i.e., whether it is approved or rejected, suggestions, comments,
etc.)

On October 27 (Tuesday) on or before 12 noon. I should have received the


following:

 1 original copy of your Document (must be ring bounded – transparent white
folder and Web Page Software
 2 copies of Grading Sheet (bond paper) – Write down the group number,
group name (if any), names of the group members, section, title of your
magazines, and please copy the criteria on the grading sheet.
 1 CD copy which contain the *.HTML file and *.DOC file – (colored black).
Label properly your group number, name of the group members, course,
subject, section, and professor’s name in the sticker.
 Insert CD, grading sheet and final documents in a long expanding envelope.

Note: Wait for further announcements on your Web Page Demo schedule for the
Final Homepage. (October 29, November 3, November 5)

CRITERIA :

*** This comprises 15 % of your final grade

This project will be graded as follows:


Creativeness in the design 20 %
Comprehensiveness and relevance of information 20 %
Consistency of the look-and-feel and aesthetics
of the entire website and different pages 30 %
Completeness of required content and functionalities 30 %

Note:
 Late papers will not be accepted and shall receive a grade of 0.0 for
LBYBUS1 Project # 1
 Copying of other’s work is strictly prohibited and punishable by a grade of 0.0
for the course
 For every instruction not followed, 5 points will be deducted from the total
score
