S&S Power Switchgear Limited (S&S Power ) and COLEME- Costruzioni

Electtromeccaniche SpA, Italy have entered into a Joint Venture and started
manufacturing Disconnecting Switches from its Puducherry Plant in the name of
S&S POWER SWITCHGEAR EQUIPMENT LTD ( S&S PSE ).

S&S POWER SWITCHGEAR LTD has transferred the Disconnector Business on

a going concern basis to its Subsidiary S&S POWER Switchgear Equipment Ltd
(S&SPSE) through a Business Transfer agreement (BTA) entered into between
S&S POWER and S&SPSE on 11th March 2010.

Pursuant to the BTA relating to the Disconnector Undertaking, the Disconnector

Business is now owned and operated by S&SPSE.

1.0 COLOURFUL HISTORY:

S & S Power Switchgear Limited was established in the year 1975 in Technical
collaboration with Brush Fuse gear, U.K for manufacture of HRC fuses. Highvoltage
Disconnecting Switches were introduced in 1978 in collaboration with Southwales
Switchgear, U.K. In the year 1981, Medium Voltage Switchgear was introduced
for the first time in India in collaboration with Brush Switchgear, U.K. Hawker
Siddeley Switchgear, U.K, entered into equity partnership as a part of the
collaboration agreement.. In the year 1986, Outdoor Porcelain Clad Vacuum Circuit
Breakers was developed indigenously, type tested at KEMA, Holland and introduced
into Indian market for the first time.

2.0 THE COMPANY

S&S PSE has its manufacturing unit at Puducherry in India. S&S Power also has a
subsidiary company called Acrastyle Limited located in the United Kingdom who are
the world leaders in Design and manufacture of Control and Protection for Power
Generation, Transmission and Distribution Systems.

Besides this, S&S Power has Regional Offices in Bombay, New Delhi and
Chennai. S&S P o we r has Resident Representatives / A g e n t s a t Trivandrum,
Bangalore, Baroda, Jabalpur, Cochin, Bhubaneshwar, Guwahati, Shillong, Ranchi,
Jammu, Jaipur and Lucknow.

S&S PSE unit is equipped with modern manufacturing and testing facilities which
are vital to meet the specific requirements for the manufacture of high technology
Power Protection equipment for Transmission and Distribution . Careful selection
of automatic and semi-automatic machines enables S&S PSE to manufacture
quality products to meet the stringent customer requirements.

S&S PSE had rapid growth in sales, which has been mainly due to the Customer
patronage in buying our products repeatedly and favoring us with large quantity
orders. This was supported by S&S PSE with the introduction of new products to meet
the customer’s changing needs.

S&S Power was the first company in India to introduce Vacuum technology way
back in 1981 and has a very large experience for the supply of 12kV and 36 kV
vacuum Circuit Breaker. S&S Power was the first company to certify their Outdoor
Porcelain Clad Vacuum Circuit Breakers at KEMA. S&S Power has supplied more
than 14000 Vacuum Circuit Breakers and more than 600
SF6 breakers, copy of reference list is enclosed.

S&S Power is the first company to develop novel products like Vacuum recloser with
magnetic actuator and the design has been patened and has been used for
the first time in switching application on a commercial basis. The entire
development work was funded by USAIDPACER.

3.0 PRODUCTS:

OFF-LOAD DISCONNECTORS :

S&S PSE is the largest manufacturer of Disconnectors in India with over 6000
installation to its credit. The range of Disconnectors include Centre Break, Double
Break, Pantograph and Vertical Break Series from 36kV to 800 kV ( 765kV
Disconnectors are manufactured and supplied by Coelme from Italy ). Disconnectors
a re s u p p l i e d w i t h d i f f e r e n t mechanisms n a m e ly – Manual, Manual Geared or
Electric Motor operated. Insulators of Solid Core type, Terminal Connectors of Rigid or
Expansion type and Support Structures can be supplied as optional items.

S&S PSE is the only Company in India who have successfully type tested t h e
Disconnectors at International test laboratory - KEMA , Holland twice. The type tests
conducted include the Ice Breaking test for High Altitude installation of these
Disconnectors.

4.0 QUALITY ASSURANCE :

CESI (ITALY), besides all leading laboratories within India, clearly proving the design
of its products, S&S PSE is committed to TQS (Total Quality System). S&S PSE has
been certified by TUV Germany as an ISO 9001 Company.

5.0 EXPORTS :

S&S PSE has executed export contracts from Australia, Malaysia, Indonesia, Nepal,
Hongkong, Oman, Argentina, UK, South Africa, Bangladesh, Vietnam, Thailand etc.,
