beginning Monday, June 4 this year. If you
remember delivering meals during the
winter months, this will put a “spring” in
your step and warm your heart! Helpers are
needed to deliver meals during the
weekdays to shut-ins. Sign up on today’s
Registration Slip for a day a week or the
entire month. Routes are not difficult. Carol
Sorsen is coordinating all volunteers and will
contact you about helping when you sign up.

GARDEN FUNDRAISER
As of May 6, the Garden Club has raised
$2,078.75 toward the landscaping plans for the
east garden area!
A sincere thank you for the many donations the
Garden Committee has received to date. We
appreciate the enthusiasm as we look forward
to brightening the church grounds by the
Fellowship Hall. Every donation is important.
Also, the Benefaction Board has pledged to
match up to $5,000 of congregational donations
received. At this time, with that match we are
making our way to the half way line. Watch the
rain gauge to see where we are. Our goal is to
be able to contact the landscaper and secure a
spot for a fall completion.
It was also suggested that we could help defray
some of the cost by doing some of the work
ourselves –primarily the tear out of the existing
landscaping. In an effort to consider this,
please consider if you would be interested in
helping if we decide to proceed with some
volunteer time.
We would welcome anyone who is interested in
helping keep the outside grounds of St. John’s
looking as nice as the inside. It is not a year
round job and with a larger group the work gets
easier. Please consider joining us. The next
work night will be May 23 at approximately 5
p.m. We normally work for an hour to an hour
and a half. We hope to see new faces who
enjoy being outside together with their church
family, keeping our grounds beautiful.
Please check the attendance sheet if you are
interested in helping with the tear out of the
existing landscaping and/or being a part of the
Garden Committee.
