i. Manifest Destiny is the belief that the United States was destined by God to spread its “empire of
liberty” across North America.
b) Give at least ONE piece of evidence of how the idea of Manifest Destiny served to guide the
practice of the American government.
i. The Manifest Destiny served as a guide to the American government by leading the U.S. to
purchase new land territories, such as the Louisiana Purchase, expanding the Western boarders.
c) Evaluate the impact of Manifest Destiny on ONE of the following, making sure to provide at least
ONE piece of evidence to support your description:
i. The Manifest Destiny had a major impact on the American economy. By the Westward expansion,
many new jobs and opportunities became available for U.S. citizens. Also by expansion, new
trade routes were made possible, advancing trade to other countries that are still used today.
