School and Community Drive Silence Todo Mental Health Program

Poddar Foundation works for creating awareness in the area of mental health. It has 2 verticals-
Offline and Online project.
In Offline project we work with the schools and communities across Mumbai and Raigad Dist.
Poddar Foundation has been conducting Mental Health awareness sessions in schools,
Communities, Aanganwadi Teachers and Self Help Group Workers.

Teachers Training:
 We conducted 2 Teachers Training with 2 Schools which is located in Fort and Dadar
between 1st Feb.2018 to 21st Feb.2018
 Teachers are integral part of shaping a child's life. They are the best people to understand
and identify the children having issues. So it’s important to create the awareness in
teachers about various mental health issues in children, how to identify them and how to
help them.

Community Drive “Silence Todo” Program:

 In Community Drive Program we implement our Silence Todo Mental Health Program in
different clusters of Mumbai location; these are Santosh Nagar, Appapada from
Goregaon and Malad location and Maharashtra Nagar from Mankhurd Location
 In Community Drive we conducted 4 sessions with women stakeholders and
Anganwadi Teachers

This session was interactive session with women group after getting the basic details from them.
Creating awareness about themselves, about any peer pressure they are facing and getting the
information from them as well. Apart from creating awareness about the psychological issues,
we empowered them with coping strategies - Understanding the self.

Outcome during Community Sessions

 Women shared their feedback that, “They learned first about these concepts and mental
health and if mental health disturbed need to take help from expertise.” Break our Silence
and share with trusted people , speak out our mental health issues so that we can seek
help from others
 Participants reported that in feedback, they did not have information before the training
but after training I got to know that about Anxiety, Depression, ADHD.”
