When Richard Nixon became president, he
decided to end US involvement in the war. He
first began removing troops from Vietnam in July
of 1969. On January 27, 1973, a peace fire was
negotiated. The important information including,
stop crossfire in South Vietnam, return US war
prisoner within 60 days, removing 24000 US
troops in 60 days, and Vietnamese have freedom
to choose their future without foreigner
interference. According to Richard Nixon during
given peace speech, "The people of South
Vietnam have been guaranteed the right to
determine their own future, without outside
interference.”
At first, Vietnam has been the colony of French
after the WWII. Ho Chi Minh, who is
revolutionary and communist, want the freedom
for the country. When Ho Chi Minh and his rebels
started to fight against French. North soldiers was
called Viet Minh. First, Ho ask US for help but
the US reject because they are democracy.
Furthermore, the US also worried about spreading
of communism. When French lost a battle.
Vietnam is decided into two part, which are North
and South. The US come to support the southern
part. However, US lose the war and the whole
country of Vietnam become the communism.
From this event, 58,220 US soldiers died in the
Vietnam War. It is estimated that millions of
Vietnamese died either in battle or as civilians
caught in the crossfire.
In the future, the north Vietnam will attack the
south Vietnam because they don’t have U.S.
support anymore. Thus, they will end up with
gather as one country and ruled by communism.
As the war end, many people were killed from
this event so there might be the worst lost ever
in American history. For Thai people point of
view, there are some possible way that U.S. and
the soviet union may find another third territory

because we are all surrounding with
communist country so U.S. will try to protect
us. Thai people feel unsafe and uncomforted
for their living. It might be our next to be the
third territory in the proxy war.

Bangkok’s first shopping mall, Siam Center is officially
opened.
It's the first western modern style shopping mall
in Bangkok to meet an international shopping
standards. It’s located in a prime location at
siam and surrounded by the better hotels and
restaurants. Siam is generally a teenager’s hang
out place. So, it aims for young adult.
Furthermore, the opposite is Siam Square, which
is the place to hangout for students and
university students. Almost all products in Siam
Center are well and reasonable priced so it suits
for young people. The owner of this business is
Siam Piwat Company. There are approximately
200-400 meter square. “There is so much space
around the building” said by, Richard Barrow, a
British blogger. The aim of the business is to
provide the latest fashions from around the
world and from local Thai designers and is
aimed at teenagers and young adults. On the
opening day, her royal highness the princess
mother graciously officiated at the grand
opening of the siam center building on Monday
January 29. This company is built in the center
of the country. Basically, this business will lead
to capitalism because it is hard to take down
those big businesses and change to communism.
Moreover, they have a lot of impact on Thai
economic because it's a big company. It can't be
refused that our country's economic depends on
this kind of a big company. Now, it’s time for
young generations to open their mind and
change their attitude toward the Western. It
might improve our economic in Thailand in the
future. More buying causes more support for an
economic. Furthermore, it’s such a good place of
relaxing and hanging out with friends after
school or working hours.

The U.S. Military have been fight in

Southeast Asia for twenty year. Finally, it ended.
Since North Vietnam want to reunite the country
from North and South into one country, they
were supported by Chinese because they are
communism. However, U.S. came to support
South Vietnam because they believe in Domino
Theory. “You have a row of dominoes set up;
you knock over the first one, and what will
happen to the last one is that it will go over very
quickly.” —President Dwight D. Eisenhower
speaking at a press conference on April 7, 1954.
They also want to contain their policy during the
cold war and prevent Communist aggression.
Moreover, they were doing Proxy war with the
Soviet Union at that time so Vietnam is the third
territory in this war. The U.S. nation support
south Vietnam government by valuable aid and
other supports. After the long period of the war,
the war goes to the end. The Vietnam war
resulted in victory for the communists.
Everyone who are involved to this war signed a
peace agreement in Paris. Finally, the U.S.
a Viet Cong observer counts U.S. troops as they prepare to board jet aircraft in Saigon as the
military who are still in Vietnam will be back

home for the first time after twenty year that
they are far from people who they loved. Not
only that North and South Vietnam will gather
into a country. However, Thai people should be
aware of this event because next it will be our
turn. We are now surrounding with the communist if you believe in Domino Theory. It’s not our good
country. We don’t know what will happen next but new. We might be the next target in proxy war!.

traffic. After this depressive event, we see many
spirit of Thai people to help others with
kindness. However, Thai people still want their
own election in the future because they won’t
know what gonna happen in the future if
Thanom come back. To protect the country from
the dictator and corrupted government, they
want to vote for the people who can develop the
country in the future.

THAI COLLEGE STUDENTS AND CITIZEN REBELS AGAINST DICTATOR GOVERNMENT TO

Thailand was ruled by Field Marshall Thanom
Kittikachon, who had ruled the country since
1963. He is the man who was mainly
responsible for Thailand's support of the US
during the Vietnam war. Furthermore, he also
committed Thai troops to the conflict. Thai
government corrupted and not doing well on
their job. Thus, the students from Thammasart
university started to rebelled for “anti-
government activities” in June. They were
arrested on 5 October and later released.
Then, they were arrested again on 13 October.
“These student leaders-cum-heroes are now
important figures, laying down the rules in
today’s democracy,” said by the old man. At that King Bhumibol had supported student protesters in their
time, approximately 200,000 students and other demonstrations
citizen gather around a democracy monument.
Finally, the ended of this bad memorable event
