Maluma

Juan Luis Londoño Arias (Medellín, 28 de enero de 1994), conocido como Maluma, es
un cantante y compositor colombiano de reguetón y trap. Saltó a la fama en su país natal
en 2011 gracias a los sencillos «Farandulera» y «Obsesión», y gracias a «La
temperatura» y «Carnaval» (2014), en el resto de América.1 Su álbum
debut, Magia (2012), tuvo éxito comercial en Colombia,2 y un año después, Maluma fue
nominado al Grammy Latino como «mejor artista nuevo».3
En 2015 lanzó su segundo álbum de estudio, Pretty Boy, Dirty Boy,4 el que ingresó en el
número uno del listado principal de álbumes latino de Billboard, y consta de los sencillos
«Borró cassette», «El perdedor» y «Sin contrato».5 En 2014 y 2015 sirvió como juez y
entrenador en La voz Kids y en octubre de 2015 salió al mercado su primera línea de
ropa.6
En febrero de 2016 participó en la ceremonia de los Premios Lo Nuestro de la cadena
estadounidense Univisión, una de sus más importantes presentaciones en directo, donde
junto a J Balvininterpretó la canción Pa' Mayté en homenaje al también colombiano Carlos
Vives7 y también el sencillo «Desde esa noche», en el que colabora junto a la
cantante mexicana Thalía.8 Luego del éxito del sencillo y la presentación en vivo, Maluma
comenzó a ser considerado por los críticos especializados como uno de los artistas de
«música urbana de mayor impacto» en Latinoamérica.910
A fines de ese mismo año es confirmado como artista y jurado para el Festival de Viña del
Mar 2017, en las mismas fechas en las que se lanza «Chantaje», su sencillo más exitoso
hasta el momento, en el que colabora junto a la cantante colombiana Shakira.
Shakira

Nació el 2 de febrero de 1977 en Barranquilla, Colombia.

Hija única de William Mebarak, estadounidense de origen libanés que emigró a Colombia
a los cinco años, y de Nidia del Carmen Ripoll Torrado, colombiana de ascendencia
catalana. Tiene ocho hermanastros mayores de un matrimonio anterior de su padre.
Cuando Shakira tenía dos años su hermanastro mayor murió en un accidente cuando su
motocicleta chocó con el coche de un conductor borracho. Fue criada como católica.

Shakira en árabe significa "agradecida" o "llena de gracia". Habla con fluidez el portugués,
italiano, inglés, español y árabe. Desde muy niña compone canciones y asiste a
concursos infantiles. Su abuela libanesa le enseñó el arte de la danza del vientre árabe.
Fue una gran admiradora de la cantante Gloria Estefan y aprecia todo lo que hizo por la
música latina.

Cuando tiene trece años, un representante de Sony Music le consigue su primer contrato
discográfico. En el año 1991 Shakira debuta con el álbum, 'Magia', publicado únicamente
en Colombia y gracias a este trabajo es elegida para representar a su país en el Festival
de la OTI en España, aunque no pudo participar en el certamen por no contar con la edad
mínima, que era de dieciséis años.
Maluma

commercial success in Colombia, 2 and a year later, Maluma was nominated for the Latin
Grammy as "best new artist" .3

In 2015 he released his second studio album, Pretty Boy, Dirty Boy, 4 which entered
number one on Billboard's main Latin album list, and consists of the singles "Borró
cassette", "El Perdedor" and "Sin contrato ».5 In 2014 and 2015 he served as judge and
coach in La voz Kids and his first clothing line was launched in October 2015.6

In February 2016, he participated in the Lo Nuestro Awards ceremony of the American

network Univisión, one of his most important live appearances, where together with J
Balvin he interpreted the song Pa 'Mayté in homage to the also Colombian Carlos Vives7
and also the single « Since that night ", in which he collaborates with the Mexican singer
Thalía.8 After the success of the single and the live performance, Maluma began to be
considered by the specialized critics as one of the artists of" urban music of greater impact
" in Latin America.910

At the end of that same year he was confirmed as an artist and jury for the Viña del Mar
Festival 2017, on the same dates as "Chantaje", his most successful single so far, in which
he collaborated with the singer Colombian Shakira.

Shakira

He was born on February 2, 1977 in Barranquilla, Colombia. The only daughter of William
Mebarak, an American of Lebanese origin who emigrated to Colombia at the age of five,
and of Nidia del Carmen Ripoll Torrado, a Colombian of Catalan descent. He has eight
older half brothers from a previous marriage of his father. When Shakira was two years
old, her older stepbrother died in an accident when her motorcycle collided with the car of
a drunk driver. She was raised as a Catholic.

Shakira in Arabic means "grateful" or "full of grace". He speaks fluent Portuguese, Italian,
English, Spanish and Arabic. Since she was a child she composed songs and attended
children's competitions. His Lebanese grandmother taught him the art of Arab belly
dancing. She was a great admirer of the singer Gloria Estefan and appreciates everything
she did for Latin music. When he is thirteen years old, a Sony Music representative gets
him his first record contract. In the year 1991 Shakira debuts with the album, 'Magia',
published only in Colombia and thanks to this work she is chosen to represent her country
in the OTI Festival in Spain, although she was not able to participate in the contest
because she did not have the minimum age, which was sixteen.
