PREFACE TO THE SECOND EDITION
The demand for a new edition of these lists bas given us the
opportunity to correct some misprints and to modify a few defini-
tions. The numberings remain unchanged throughout. Attention
may be called to the fact that in the statistics of ver b occurrences,
compounds have been reckoned with their primitives. In this we
have followed the procedure of Gebring's Index H omericus, upon
the materials of which our statistics are based.
