PRIVATE LAB ENVIRONMENT WITH VPN ACCESS | 2016
Deployed a personal lab environment using 3 HP DL360 Gen 6 systems with 32GB RAM and 2 TB
storage on each. Using OpenVPN, I created a VPN server with one physical host that allows access
through a 256-bit encryption tunnel. The second host is running ESXi 6.5 with two VM instances
(OPNsense firewall and SolarWinds trial/Wireshark). The last physical system is also running ESXi 6.5
and has various VM instances that are used for penetration testing, target hosts, sandboxes and my
malware analysis lab.
Created a bash program and python GUI that provides novice cyber security individuals with a
learning platform to help acquaint them to various security tools. The platform provides easy
installation and configuration of tools like Snort IDS, NMAP, Spiderfoot OSINT, Wireshark and
Graylog. Once the tools are successfully installed and configured, the tool will provide a plentiful
amount of helpful information to guide the user through the different security tools. Currently, the
programs are only available through Debian distros but will soon be available for RPM-based distros.
