Produce Shares at the Friday Farmers Market

A new farmers market kicks-off at CMHC on Fridays from noon to 4:00, starting July 9
through September 24. The market will feature Connecticut farmers’ seasonal fruits
and vegetables and will be managed by CitySeed, New Haven’s premiere farmers mar-
ket organization. The market at CMHC will offer healthy, fresh food options for CMHC
and CSN clients, family members and staff and for CMHC neighbors and area residents.
This new project builds on successful collaborative work with CitySeed starting in 2008
by Fellowship Place and other community supporters. Additional partners since then
include Columbus House and the CMHC Foundation.

CSM SHARES
Individuals can select and purchase food directly at the Friday Farmers Market or sign-
up in advance for shares of farm-fresh produce through CitySeed’s Community Sup- SEASON SCHEDULE
ported Market (CSM) Program. One (CSM) share contains a variety of 4-6 in-season
vegetables and fruits with about 4-6 servings of each.

SEASON COSTS
CSM shares include the freshest and most available vegetables and fruits from all the
farmers at the market and offer a seasonal variety from week to week. CitySeed also
provides a newsletter with recipes, food preparation ideas, and storage tips. Donor share —$176.00

Agency Shares are an excellent option for clients who are interested in cooking and
healthy eating, cooking groups/classes at agencies, meals at residential programs, and

EBT cards (food stamps) and
Agency Shares / $5 per week (minimum agency purchase of 5 shares) includes the
same amount of produce as market and donor shares and cost subsidized with WIC coupons can be used to
generous support from the CMHC Foundation purchase fresh vegetables
and fruits at all CitySeed
