Self-Guided Tour
You can begin the self-guided campus tour at the Engineering Center (EC, F-11) or at any point along the way.
Each number represents a spot on the map to stop during your tour. You are welcome to explore any of the
campus buildings during office hours.

1. The Engineering Center (EC, F-11) houses the College of Engineering and Applied Science. Our undergraduate and graduate
engineering programs were ranked as some of the best in the nation in U.S. News and World Report’s 2015 editions of Best Colleges
and Best Graduate Schools.
Nearby: Mathematics Building (MATH, F-10) and Discovery Learning Center (DLC, F-11)
Next stop: Koelbel Building (KOBL, H-10)
Walk to the building directly south of the Engineering Center.

2. The Koelbel Building (KOBL, H-10) houses the Leeds School of Business, which is the eighth-oldest business school in the
U.S. and is consistently ranked one of the best business schools in the nation by sources like BusinessWeek, U.S. News and
World Report, World Resources Institute and the Aspen Institute.

H Must See: Fiske Planetarium and Science Center (FISK, J-10) and Center for Community (C4C, I-9)
Nearby: Coors Events Center (EVNT, I-12)
Next stop: Farrand Field (H-8)
Begin walking south on the sidewalk—continue to follow the sidewalk as it turns west.
Continue until you pass Willard Hall (WLRD, H-8) on your right. Turn right and walk north until you reach Farrand Field.

3. Farrand Field (G-8) features a performance stage and recreational space. Some of CU-Boulder’s 24 residence halls frame
Farrand Field, including Willard Hall to the southeast, Farrand Hall (FRND, H-9) to the east and Baker Hall (BKER, G-7) to the northwest.
Nearby: Imig Music Building (MUS, H-7) and Regent Administrative Center (RGNT, I-8)
Next stop: Visual Arts Complex (VAC, G-6)
Walk west along the perimeter of the field, continuing until you reach 18th Street. Cross the street and turn north. After you pass
Euclid Avenue AutoPark (EPRK, G-6), turn west and walk until you see signs for the Visual Arts Complex to the north.

4. The Visual Arts Complex (VAC, G-6) houses the Department of Art and Art History in an environmentally friendly facility. The
Visual Arts Complex includes a woodshop, a kiln yard, the Visual Resources Center and more. The CU Art Museum, celebrating
more than 60 years on campus, is also in this building.
H Must See: University Memorial Center (UMC, G-5)
Nearby: Cristol Chemistry and Biochemistry (CHEM, G-5)
Next stop: Roser ATLAS (Alliance for Technology, Learning and Society) Building (ATLS, G-6)
From the south side of the Visual Arts Complex, follow the walkway north through the breezeway.
The Roser ATLAS Building will be to the east.

5. The Roser ATLAS (Alliance for Technology, Learning and Society) Building (ATLS, G-6) has facilities for innovative learning,
information technology curricula and research. The building has a 150-seat auditorium, a 2,700-square-foot black box studio,
a 1,000-square-foot production studio and an exhibition lobby featuring a video wall.
Nearby: Ketchum Arts and Sciences (KTCH, F-6)
Next stop: Norlin Library (LIBR, E-6)
From the north side of the Roser ATLAS Building, follow the sidewalk west. Turn north past Ketchum Arts and Sciences.
Norlin Library will be to the north.

6. Norlin Library (LIBR, E-6) is on the east side of Norlin Quadrangle. A renovation was completed in fall 2009; there is now a learning
commons, a research center, team technology rooms and a coffee shop. Norlin Library also houses the Writing Center, Center for Asian
Studies, Faculty Teaching Excellence Program and Honors offices.
H Must See: Norlin Quadrangle (E-4) and Old Main (MAIN, E-4)
Nearby: Eaton Humanities Building (HUMN, E-5)
Next stop: Macky Auditorium (MCKY, D-4)
From the west side of Norlin Library, walk west along Norlin Quadrangle (E-4). Turn north past Woodbury Arts and Sciences
(WDBY, E-5). Cross the road and Macky Auditorium will be to the north.

7. Macky Auditorium (MCKY, D-4), built in 1912 and recently renovated, is one of Colorado’s premier concert halls.
The 2,047-seat theater features classical and popular musical concerts, dance performances, lectures and films.
Nearby: McKenna Languages (MKNA, E-4) and Varsity Lake (E-3)
Next (and last) stop: Student Recreation Center (REC, D-7)
From the south side of Macky Auditorium, walk east. The Student Recreation Center will be just past Norlin Library to the north.

8. The Student Recreation Center (REC, D-7), recently renovated, includes four swimming pools, an ice arena, a turf gym,
10,000 square feet of strength and cardio space, a climbing wall, six multipurpose wood courts, and five fitness studios with
more than 100 classes offered weekly.
H Must See: Folsom Field (E-8)
Nearby: Ramaley Biology (RAMY, E-6) and Duane Physics and Astrophysics (DUAN, F-7)
To get back to the Engineering Center (EC, F-11) from the Student Recreation Center, walk south until you reach Colorado Avenue.
Walk east along Colorado Avenue until you see the Engineering Center to the south.
