Happy Father’s Day

We extend to all Fathers, Grandfathers and Godfathers wishes for a blessed
and Happy Father’s Day. We pray that God will strengthen all fathers as role
models of faith and family. We commend the dedication and sacrifice of the
many men who work so hard to provide for the well being, love and security of
their families. May God bless them with the fullness of life and joyous days!

The Bishop's Project—This Weekend

The Knights of Columbus will be holding their annual Father’s Day Collection after all Masses this
weekend, June 16th and 17th. Proceeds benefit the Bishop of Pittsburgh’s Project for Exceptional
Children at the St. Anthony’s School Programs and McGuire Memorial. The St. Anthony's School
was started by Bishop (Cardinal) John J. Wright more than 50 years ago. His mission has been ex-
panded to include McGuire Memorial, a program that provides education, training, housing and 24
hour a day loving care for children with profound physical and mental disabilities and autism. Your
contribution will aid these children in reaching their full potential. Please be generous.

Dear Parishioners:
I am excited to meet, pray and be present with you as the administrator with the team of Father
Patrick Barkey, Father Jerry Mikonis and Deacon Alexander Poroda. We have already spent time
praying together and to discuss how, as parishes, we will become a Strong Community of Faith!
October 15 is the date we will begin our assignment, but you will see us at the various upcom-
ing activities! In fact, we want to pray with you at each of the Church Sites.
Our opportunity to pray with you at Saint Damien of Molokai will be at Holy Hour on
Wednesday, June 27th from 6-7pm. Immediately following, we will “Meet and Greet”. There is no
formal program, so come and go as you please.
Sincerely yours in Christ,
Reverend Kevin Dominik

Through It All the Seed Would Sprout and Grow – In the context of On Mis-
sion for The Church Alive!, maybe these words from today’s Gospel resonate
true in your heart. Or maybe they are a challenge for you as you continue to seek
a settled heart regarding the changes to our parishes that were recently an-
nounced. These changes aren’t easy for anyone, clergy and faithful alike. It
means letting go of some things, taking on responsibility for others, and through
it all building new relationships rooted in faith and love. Yet, the focus of this
initiative remains The Church Alive! While we may be challenged by what is taking place, the respon-
sibility is on us as daughters and sons of God and as communities of faith to work for a Church that is
ever more Alive! God plants the seeds of faith, hope and love in our hearts. Through prayer and good
works we nourish those seeds in our hearts and the hearts of others so that they can sprout and grow
no matter the circumstances. God’s grace works to strengthen us and the Church even in the midst of
change. Visit onmissionchurchalive.org to learn more and to stay informed.
