Description Inquiry Page83 for DKC410I/415I has been updated as follows:
1. With System option mode 140 ON and system option mode 293 ON the descriptor of Identifier
Type = 3 will be added.
2. System option mode 140 ON and system option mode 293 OFF, the descriptor of Identifier Type
= 3, 1 will be added.
3. With System option mode 140 OFF and system option mode 293 ON, no change.
4. With System option mode 140 OFF and system option mode 293 OFF, no change.

3-2 Support for Micro-Program Exchange with HDLM in Operation

Description When performing a micro-program exchange online in the alternate path mode, the following
functions are supported when subsystem is connected to a server with HDLM in operation.
1. To set a wait time after the MP used for the micro-program exchange is rebooted.
2. The wait time is selectable between 1-60 minutes.
3. The HDLM software can automatically recognize if the path is down or recovered and switch
the path status during the wait time

Conditions to enable the function:

1. MP reboot due to micro-program exchange (DKCMAIN,RAMBOOT),
2. Alternate path mode (automatic) is selected.

Note Restrictions:
Alternate path is set correctly,
The online micro-program exchange is available when both the primary path and the alternate
path are normal. If a path status is abnormal, make sure to perform the online micro-program
exchange after the path recovery. The alternate path function is unavailable for the HMDE
volume. When exchanging the micro-program or CHF, make sure to perform a planned stop for
the I/O onto the HMDE volume. Make sure to perform a planned stop for the I/O onto the LDEV
to which the alternate path is not set. In the environment of HP-UX, Solaris, AIX, or
Windows2000/2003, perform the micro-program exchange in the alternate SCSI path mode.
In the case of Dual Active, workload may concentrate on one path during the micro-program or
CHF exchange. Please perform the micro-program exchange online when the host’s workload is
low. In the environment of Path Manager of Windows OS, the alternate path function is
unsupported when using RAID Manager. Please shut down the RAID Manager in this case.
