The Great Day of the LORD is NEAR

Genesis 47:9 ... few and evil have the days of the years of my life been ...

I make no pretense, I stand before GOD a wicked man, very much deserving of his judgment.
Regardless, I am convinced with no shadow of doubt that this world will come to an end and that GOD
will recreate a new heaven and a new earth. When this will occur, GOD knows. Just as in the days of
Noah, a servant of GOD, Noah warned the people of pending judgment from GOD, e.g., Genesis 6, 7 &
8. If there were a David Letterman equivalent I would imagine a top 10 list for why Noah would be
walking on dry land the day the flood was to begin, with derisive laughter from the audience. Today is
no different than in the days of Noah. There are scoffers both in the world, who make no pretense of
their hatred for GOD and for those who cling to their bibles and to our LORD Jesus Christ. Even in the
so-called churches, who in an attempt to assuage the clear unambiguous message from the Bible that
there is a Judgment Day, and all mankind, both the rich and the impoverished, the elites and the serf's,
the good and the bad, the young and old, all will stand on that Great and Notable Day of the Lord.
Whether you are an atheist, shaking your head in disbelief at those who thank GOD for the good things
that occur in their lives and also for the trials and tribulations that occur in all our lives or you are a
member of a church and your church doctrine teaches that no man knows the day or the hour or that
there will be a 1,000 year reign of Christ, while you believers are in heaven, the indisputable fact
remain, there will be a Judgment Day. For those unwilling to accept what the Bible teaches or who
believe that the Bible is a fairy tale used to whip their followers into submission, please, please know
that there is a terrible period that will befall billions of people living at the time Judgment Day arrives.

Zephaniah 1 14-18:

The great day of the LORD is near, it is near, and hasteth greatly, even the voice of the
day of the LORD: the mighty man shall cry there bitterly. That day is a day of wrath, a
day of trouble and distress, a day of wasteness and desolation, a day of darkness and
gloominess, a day of clouds and thick darkness, a day of the trumpet and alarm
against the fenced cities, and against the high towers. And I will bring distress upon
men, that they shall walk like blind men, because they have sinned against the LORD:
and their blood shall be poured out as dust, and their flesh as the dung. Neither their
silver nor their gold shall be able to deliver them in the day of the LORD's wrath; but
the whole land shall be devoured by the fire of his jealousy: for he shall make even a
speedy riddance of all them that dwell in the land.
 No Man Knows the Day or the Hour

For those who believe that no man knows the day or the hour, please compare the following:

John 7:27

Howbeit we know this man whence he is: but when Christ cometh, no man knoweth
whence he is.

Matthew 24: 35-36

Heaven and earth shall pass away, but my words shall not pass away. But of that day
and hour knoweth no man, no, not the angels of heaven, but my Father only.

Upon careful analysis of both these verses there is a strong positive correlation. On the one hand the
Jews claimed to know the man they called Jesus, but their belief was that when the CHRIST would
come that no man would know whence he is. On the other hand you have today people who claim that
no man knows the day or the hour when Judgment Day will be, pointing to this verse as their proof and
validity of their ardent belief. Howbeit that both groups are so wrong. Those who do not believe that
Jesus is the CHRIST and those who comprise the so-called christian churches that teach that no man can
know the day or the hour. In an effort to dispel the latter let me offer the verse, which is at the heart of
such contention, with addition information that GOD provides in HIS word.

Matthew 24 32-39

Now learn a parable of the fig tree; When his branch is yet tender, and putteth forth
leaves, ye know that summer is nigh: So likewise ye, when ye shall see all these things,
know that it is near, even at the doors. Verily I say unto you, This generation shall not
pass, till all these things be fulfilled. Heaven and earth shall pass away, but my words
shall not pass away. But of that day and hour knoweth no man, no, not the angels of
heaven, but my Father only. But as the days of Noe were, so shall also the coming of
the Son of man be. For as in the days that were before the flood they were eating and
drinking, marrying and giving in marriage, until the day that Noe entered into the ark,
and knew not until the flood came, and took them all away; so shall also the coming of
the Son of man be.
We start with understanding the parable of the fig tree. The fig tree is a representation of the nation of
Israel which became a nation amongst the nations just after WW II. So already Jesus is teaching that
when we see this great event that we should know that Judgment Day is near, very near. The next clue
is that in the next verse Jesus declares that “This generation shall not pass, till all these things be
fulfilled”, then underscores it, puts an exclamation mark on it and marks everything spoken about as
immutable by declaring in the next verse “Heaven and earth shall pass away, but my words shall not
pass away”, meaning nothing that we believe, say or do will change what is immutable with GOD.

Now we come to the point where the rubber meets the road, the context which proves without shadow of
doubt of what Christ was teaching and for many of us have not wanted to hear. In verse 37-39 GOD
declares,

But as the days of Noe were, so shall also the coming of the Son of man be. For as in
the days that were before the flood they were eating and drinking, marrying and giving
in marriage, until the day that Noe entered into the ark, and knew not until the flood
came, and took them all away; so shall also the coming of the Son of man be.

Firstly, notice how GOD is causing our mind to draw the comparison between the time of Noah and
today, September 2010? Now, when Noah entered the ark, did GOD know when the floods would
come? The answer is absolutely YES, of course GOD knew when the floods would come, it was GOD
who was going to bring the floods upon all the earth. Next question, did Noah know when GOD would
bring the floods that would cover all the earth, destroying and bringing to an end all life on earth,
including all mankind, both the rich and the impoverished, the elites and the serf's, the good and the bad,
the young and old. All died, all came under the judgment of GOD, except Noah and his family, who
were in the ark, a picture of the LORD Jesus Christ, the answer is again, absolutely YES.

So why is it today we hear so many so-called Christians say that no one “can” know the day or the hour.
The answer is actually quite simple, while at the same time quite frightening. For the full context ready
2 Thessalonians 2: 1-17. But for purposes of explaining why so many people believe what it is they do
believe I will focus attention on 2 Thessalonians 2: 10-12:

2 Thessalonians 2: 10-12

And with all deceivableness of unrighteousness in them that perish; because they
received not the love of the truth, that they might be saved. And for this cause God
shall send them strong delusion, that they should believe a lie: that they all might be
damned who believed not the truth, but had pleasure in unrighteousness.

As for myself, I can attest to being under strong delusion. For years I could not understand nor explain
why I did, the things that I did do. There were things in my life that I did I knew to be wrong. Now that
I understand that GOD brings strong delusion upon people, and there is evidence throughout the Bible
where GOD talks about bringing strong delusion upon people that the things which have troubled me
throughout my entire life I can submit to GOD, asking for forgiveness and strength to overcome my
weaknesses. It also helps to explain the modern phenomenon of putting in power a man many knew to
be evil and despotic. But in this regard GOD is in control, and not man, and to this end it must be.
 The Equation “1 + 1 = 2”

As a way of illustrating the point that no matter what we say or do it does not change an immutable fact
I will use the following analogy. We start with an immutable fact, a mathematical equation:

1+1=2

Now, we have two groups of people, the first group are the “atheists”, who do not believe that the
number 2 exists.

Please note, I am not picking on “atheists”, I am just using the term for purposes of illustration. As a
note of disclosure, a few of my most dearest friends, who I deeply love and care about are atheists,
which as I am writing this is breaking my heart and bringing me to tears, because I love them so much
and know what GOD will surely bring to an end, and what I know to be absolute certainty will directly
affect them.

The second group of people are those in the church, who teach that no man knows the day or the hour,
or anything that teaches that when CHRIST went to the cross that HE died for all mankind and that man
has to believe in CHRIST in order to be saved, or in fact any doctrine that cannot be supported by what
GOD has declared in HIS word the Bible. These believe that the equation “1 + 1 = 2”does not directly
equal 2, but at some point in the future will resolve to equal the number 2.

The similarities between the two groups is that neither believes in the equation “1 + 1 = 2” . The first
group vigorously develops a theory that in their minds conclusively proves that the number 2 does not
exist, because as they have stated in over two centuries of scientific thought, what they have declared in
their journals and what is taught in schools and Universities that the number 2 simply does not exist.
Anyone thus declaring that the number 2 exists is excoriated and deemed to being a relic of religious
fanatics who believe in something they have already proven not to exist. And if you want that
government grant or you want tenure at one of our Universities don't you dare declare that the number 2
exists, when we have shown conclusively that no such number exists.

The other group does not believe in the number 2 or in the equation “1 + 1 = 2”, because they so much
like the other numbers that come before and after that dreaded number 2. To them the number 2 is
fearful, something to be avoided, you don't want to think about that number, because that equation, that
number is something definite, it is immutable. So, what to do, what to do, how can we get around this
equation and this dreaded number 2? Ah, we will come up with a way to say that the equation
“1 + 1 =2”, but that it happens way, way off into the future, way beyond the scope of what we can see
with our physical eye. Yes, the equation “1 + 1 = 2”, but not right now, the equation will equal 2, but
somewhere down the line.

This in fact is fanciful, both groups behave in similar form, although they fundamentally believe
different things they do exhibit the same characteristics of how an an ostrich acts when confronted by
danger, they stick their heads in the sand and say, the lion is not going to eat me, I don't see no lion, I'm
safe. When in fact nothing could be further from the truth. How terribly, terribly sad to know that many
of our loved ones think one way or the other, without thinking of the terrible consequences that await
them. I have been in tears writing this, thinking of those I love so much. Oh, if it were possible that
GOD would save my loved ones and leave me behind. I know, I understand the consequences of my
sins, the fierce anger that GOD will pour out on those, whom GOD has not elected to HIS grace. Oh, if
it were possible I would rather see death rather to have my loved ones continue in their disbelief.
 Sign, Sign Everywhere a Sign

In the lyrics for the song “Signs”, © 1970, 2002 Five Man Electrical Band, the chorus reads:

Sign Sign everywhere a sign

Blocking out the scenery breaking my mind
Do this, don't do that, can't you read the sign

How it is today that we have so many signs, blocking out the scenery of this world, and all that this
world has to offer. We live in fantastic times, the advancement of technology and medicine and the
knowledge we learn from the word of GOD, the Bible. As GOD is opening our understanding to things
heretofore that could not be understood. Previously, we cast our view into the looking glass through
eyes that were dim, but now, GOD is allowing us to see the signs, which were always there, in ways that
help put into perspective and to let us know without shadow of doubt that the end of this world is near,
we are at the very precipice. Can't your read the signs???

Just as in the mathematical equation “1 + 1 = 2”, this equation is immutable, so to is the fact that GOD
has given to us all the signs that we are very near to Judgment Day. Should we ignore the signs that
GOD has so carefully and graciously provided to us then we do so at our own peril. It would be
analogous to driving, petal to the metal, on a road closed because the bridge washed away after a flood
or diving headlong into a pool with no water, the end results in both cases is always a bloody mess.

Signs, Signs, everywhere GOD is giving us signs,

Warning of Judgment, bringing peace to my mind,
If GOD loves you?, then you will read HIS signs?

If I were to tell you the story of my life, many people would cry, and say how awful. It is only now in
the latter part of my life that it is now I understand why certain things occurred in my life, which is why
I use the verse from Genesis 47:9

... few and evil have the days of the years of my life been ...

Those who know me, know exactly what I am referring to. But for all the bitterness and anger I had
towards GOD, over the loss of my family, I have come to understand that it was for this purpose for
which GOD has brought me forth. Never in my wildest nightmares could I ever comprehend when
reading Mark 13:12

Now the brother shall betray the brother to death, and the father the son; and children
shall rise up against their parents, and shall cause them to be put to death.

Before the birth of my children, that I so earnestly prayed for, that it would be my children that would
fulfill this in my own life. It is only now, that GOD has removed the veil from off my eyes that I can
understand why things happened the way they did. I am no longer angry with GOD, but grateful that
GOD has preserved me, and kept me from falling deeper into a sinful life.

Now that the veil has been lifted I can now see the signs, everywhere are signs, I hope GOD will be
merciful and save me, because I can see the signs. Can you see the signs?
 The All Important Question

Everything that this life has to offer, is worthless, if by the end of it all we end up under the wrath of
GOD. In the end, it does not matter what level of education I achieve, what social status I am able to
maintain or move into, it does not matter if I am rich or poor, it does not matter if through all my hard
work that I have achieved a pension that others will spend their lives paying for, or what government
handout I can get, for I can achieve all these things in my life then end up eternally under the judgment
of GOD, then should I not ask the question, was it really worth it all? All this leads to the ageless
question:

Who Am I, What Am I, Why Am I Here?

The answer is clear, mankind was the crowning achievement of creation that GOD spoke into existence.
Which one of us spoke and had anything created? Man was placed on this earth to serve GOD and
GOD appointed man to be rulers of HIS creation, which mankind did do for a short period of time. Yet
today many of HIS creation live wretched lives in utter poverty, both in the physical and spiritual sense.
Just the other day I was walking down the street to go and get something to eat. I did not have much in
the way of money with which to purchase my food. As I traveled I happened to pass an old lady, who
begged me for some money. I told the old lady that I did not have money to give to her. I went and
purchased my days portion of food then realized that I still had four quarters left over. Thinking of the
old lady I ran out from the store and caught up with the old lady as she meandered down the street,
giving her the last of the money I had. The woman was so thankful that I had given her money, I could
see tears running down her cheeks. In that moment, it dawned on me that in general mankind is like that
poor old lady. While in this life they may be living an opulent lifestyle, but in their spiritual lives they
are impoverished, not living to the potential that GOD had originally intended, that we HIS crowning
achievement should live.

God placed us here to give glory to GOD. We are not here on this earth simply to acquire as much of
what we can take, as it appears to be the case today. While for the most part, except for a remnant
chosen by grace, mankind has done anything but give glory to GOD. All through their lives mankind
has been shaking their fist at GOD and all the while GOD has allowed sinful man to continue, why has
GOD allowed such wickedness to continue for so long? The answer is that GOD is executing HIS plan
for this world. To summarize GOD is the potter, he it is that takes a lump of clay and does with it as he
sees fit to do. We, all mankind, are the clay from which GOD has created to bring forth all that he set
forth to do in this world. For in Romans 9:20 we read

Nay but, O man, who art thou that repliest against God? Shall the thing formed say to
him that formed it, Why hast thou made me thus?

The question that GOD is putting forth to all mankind is rhetorical, but gets to the heart of the real
question before us, am I here on earth simply to acquire as much of what this world has to offer, get the
best education so I can enjoy a happy life, settle down, have a couple of kids, grow old, enjoy my
retirement, get the best health care that my money can afford so I can live a long life before passing
away to a nether world? If that is what you think life is all about, then you have totally missed the boat.
Your still standing on the pier, you have no where else to go.

But then, from out of no where, someone delivers a message to you that there is another boat, called the
ark, and there is still time to board the ark before it sails off into eternity. You've heard of this ark thing,
mostly from people that have derided it has a hoax. So most people you know have no interest in either
boarding this ark, let alone casting a shadow, in its direction. You have heard stories of a group of
virgins who awaiting the arrival of their LORD fell asleep, then when their LORD arrived some of them
were able to enter while the other were not allowed. It seems that the ones that were allowed in had oil
in their lamps while the others did not. Then when the virgins that had no oil in their lamps cried to be
let in they were told that their LORD never knew them. So you instinctively know that not everyone
who wants to enter this ark will be allowed entry. You know that the owner of this ark has personally
assembled a list of those who are to comprise the passenger list, referred to as the Lambs book of Life.
As you continue to read, you learn that before you enter this ark, you must let all your cares for this
world, and all that this world has to offer go by the wayside. Furthermore, you have got to come
groveling before GOD in acknowledgment that you are a dirty rotten sinner, deserving to be under the
wrath of GOD for an eternity. As you read this message, you also learn of a people that lived in a city
called Nineveh, where just such a thing did happened, from the king all the down to the lowliest
inhabitant, all entered this ark of safety. Now the question is do you see the signs, the signs pointing to
the ark of safety? You can already see the storm clouds brewing and they look ominous, even deadly.

How is it possible, that mankind, being dead in their sins, having no interest in GOD would come to
GOD and to the ark of safety, which is our LORD and Saviour Jesus Christ. How is it possible, that
after so many years of stubborn and willful disobedience that a man as wicked as I am could even have
the hope of salvation. The answer is that GOD is the potter, we are the clay. He will do with us as he
sees fit, forming one lump of clay to a vessel of honor, while forming another for dishonor. This one
point should not be overlooked, GOD could have decided to destroy all mankind, not saving any one of
us. The fact that GOD, Almighty GOD would have any pity on such a wretch as I am is what fills me
with amazement, while at the same time provides me hope.

Even though all mankind deserves to be under the curse of GOD for transgressions that we have
willfully committed against GOD, yet GOD in his love and mercy for HIS people allowed HIS Son, our
LORD and Saviour Jesus Christ to be a curse for us. How this could be I will never understand. I do
know and do understand that all we like sheep have gone astray and that like clay in the hand of the
potter, I submit my will to HIM that is able to keep me from against that Great and Terrible Day of
Judgment.

Ultimately, what is important, whether we die today or Christ returns all mankind will stand before
Jesus Christ to give an account of their lives:

Revelation 20:11-15

And I saw a great white throne, and him that sat on it, from whose face the earth and
the heaven fled away; and there was found no place for them. And I saw the dead,
small and great, stand before God; and the books were opened: and another book was
opened, which is the book of life: and the dead were judged out of those things which
were written in the books, according to their works. And the sea gave up the dead
which were in it; and death and hell delivered up the dead which were in them: and
they were judged every man according to their works. And death and hell were cast
into the lake of fire. This is the second death. And whosoever was not found written in
the book of life was cast into the lake of fire.
For those that Christ came to save their sins have already been paid for, therefore Jesus Christ is their
stand in, Christ has endured the punishment justly deserved for those chosen from before the
foundations of the world:

Ephesians 1:3-11

Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who hath blessed us with all
spiritual blessings in heavenly places in Christ: According as he hath chosen us in him
before the foundation of the world, that we should be holy and without blame before
him in love: Having predestinated us unto the adoption of children by Jesus Christ to
himself, according to the good pleasure of his will, to the praise of the glory of his
grace, wherein he hath made us accepted in the beloved. In whom we have
redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of sins, according to the riches of his
grace; wherein he hath abounded toward us in all wisdom and prudence; having made
known unto us the mystery of his will, according to his good pleasure which he hath
purposed in himself: that in the dispensation of the fulness of times he might gather
together in one all things in Christ, both which are in heaven, and which are on earth;
even in him: in whom also we have obtained an inheritance, being predestinated
according to the purpose of him who worketh all things after the counsel of his own
will:

Ultimately, what is of utmost importance, is will we harken to what GOD tells us is HIS word or will
you be on the floor laughing derisively at the thought that this world will come to an end. Can you see
the signs?

The one question, the only question you should ask yourself:

DOES GOD LOVE YOU?
