The Finance Officer and Deputy Finance Officer of BU UNESCO CLUB
participated in the 15th International Society for Photogrammetry and Remote Sensing Student Consortium and WG VI/5 Summer School with the theme Geoinformatics for disaster risk reduction: Application of Drones. They were joined by 3 more participants from the Philippines and other students from all over Asia. The program focused on the adoption of modern technologies such as the use of drones or unmanned aerial vehicles that can significantly enhance risk and damage assessments, and revolutionize the way we prepare for and respond to disasters. The participants were able to fly a drone on their own and process the data gathered as well as experience the Sri Lankan Culture.
