The distance from the plane of the aperture to any circulation space should be at least 1000 mm, so as to preserve a zone undisturbed by anyone other than the operator. b. Biological safety cabinets should be placed in a position where there should be no opposing wall (or other obstruction likely to affect the airflow) within 2000 mm of the front aperture, €. Safety cabinets should not be installed in positions where they are likély to be affected by other items or equipment. In particular the distance to the aperture of an opposing safety cabinet, fume cupboard, or the edge of a local exhaust ventilation outlet should not be less than 3000 mm. 4. Any room air supply diffuser should not be within 1500 mm of the front aperture. €. Doorways should not be within 1500 mm of the aperture or within 1000 mm of the side of the safety cabinet. £. The position of a safety cabinet should satisfy the spatial requirements (e.g, vision, lighting and convenience of access) of the operator and personnel working nearby. When a cabinet is installed ona bench top, the leading edge should be flush with or slightly overhanging the edge of the bench top. Working environment: (1) Only applicable to indoor operation; (2) Ambient temperature: 15°C~35°C; (3) Relative Humidity: <75%; (4) Atmospheric pressure range: 70 kPa~106 kPa; (5) Electrical parameters: Consistent with the rated voltage of the biosafety cabinet (See 2.1.5 Technical Parameters and 2.1.6 Performance Index); (6) Power supply need to be grounded; (Judging method: test the live wire and the neutral wire of the power supply with multimeter. The voltage between live and ground should equal to the voltage of local electrical grid, and the voltage between neutral and ground should equal 10 0, Otherwise the power supply is not grounded correctly). (7) Test the voltage stability before using, if the voltage is unstable, use a voltage regulator to adjust. Otherwise the control panel and transformer may be easily damaged. 1.4 Installation a. Remove all the package matetials; b. Check the surface of main body to make sure there is no scratch, deformation or foreign bodies; ©. Move the whole equipment to the final installation location: : INVERT, DISASSEMBLE OR TITILE THE CABINET during transportation. ‘ d. Assemble the base stand referring to Picture 5 bolts marked with red circle in Picture 5, please remove the other bolts and install, 10X55 Hexagon, Buckle plug pocket head serv ee eae . | WO fat washer & & NN ‘T-frame Nae] Take out the M10x55 hexagon socket head screws, hole plugs, MIO stainless steel flat washer, MIO stainless steel spring washer and M10 stainless steel cap nuts. Refer to Picture 5 to assemble the base stand. Firmness and fastness were required. e. Cabinet could be moved by lower down all four foot together. Anticlockwise rotate the red part shown in the Picture 9 to rise the base feet and the height of cabinet. Cabinet could be fixed by rise all four foot together. The filtered laminar flow generated by vertical HEPA provides protection for experiment materials. In addition, the polluted sir is purified by HEPA (ULPA) filter’ which provides protection for environment. The safety cabinet needs to be connected with a suitable exhaust blower when used for microbiological experiment with radionuclide or toxie volatile chemicals, 2.1.2 Product Application Biological Safety Cabinet is necessary equipment in laboratories of microbiology, biomedical Science, genetic recombination, animal experiment, and biological products. There are totally 8 common buttons on control panel. Under standby status, press the fluorescent lamp button and then press and hold the power button for 5 seconds, The clock could be adjusted after a buzz alarm, Press UP and DOWN to adjust the number and press MUTE to switch from minute to hour. After setting the time correctly, press fluorescent lamp button and then press and hold the power button for 5 seconds. A buzz.alarm indicates that the time has been saved. 2.4 Remote Control and Foot Switch 2.4.1 Remote Contro! Remote control provides a safe distance for operating the experiment in cabinet. It allows a distance of 6 meters and an angle of 30° for flexibly controlling all functions. The remote control is portable with its small size and light weight. Reservi Picture 9 Remote Control A. Reservation Time (SUB) a. Connect the power, open power lock, and press the reservation timing button (SUB); b. Set the time by adjusting the number on the flickering digit using “+” or “" button. Press the confirmation button (CONFIRM) to confirm; and then adjust the number on other digits in the same way; €. After the time is confirmed, press one of the function buttons (such as UV) to reserve | corresponding operation. | d._ Press the POWER button again to start the timer. The corresponding function would start when the time finished B, Timer (INSTALL a, Connect the power, open power lock and press the POWER button. Then press one of the function buttons to select and start a function, such as UV; b. Press the INSRALL TIMER button and set the time by adjusting the number on the flickering digit using “+” or “-” button. Press button (CONFIRM) to confirm; and then adjust the number ‘on other digits in the same way; . Afler the time is confirmed, the Timer function would be started. The selected operating function would be stopped when the timer finished, and the cabinet would be under standby status. C. Application of Reservation Time ° Biological safety cabinet, equipped with UV lamp, needs to be sterilized for at least 30 minutes before and after using it. A reservation time function was developed to save the waiting time of sterilization. This product would be automatically tumed on/off based on the setting time after finishing sterilization. The time could be set from 0—99h59min. 2.4.2 The use of foot switch Picture 10 Press the left red switch by foot, front window goes up, press the right black switch, front window goes down. 2.5 Instructions of Operation | 2.5.1 Normal Operation Notice | (1) Make sure input voltage is correct and stable. The rated load of main power socket should be higher than eabinet consumption, Plug must be well grounded. (2) In order to avoid air turbulence, the operator should move his arms slowly and ide the working area and rest for at carefully during experiment, Hands should stay least 1 minute before operating, To decrease the times of putting in/taking out arms, all necessary materials should be placed in the working zone before the experiment starts. (3) Moving principles of different samples inside cabinet: When two or more samples need to be moved, be sure that low-polluting samples move to high-polluting samples. Movement of items should also follow the principles of moving slowly and stably. (4) Samples placed in parallel: Samples should be placed in parallel and form a horizontal straight line to avoid cross-contamination between samples or blockage at return air grille, (3) Do NOT place any soft or tiny materials on the work table to prevent breakdown of the blower cau: 1g by sucking those materials (6) The weight of items placed in the cabinet should be no more than 23Kg/25*2Sem?; (7) Avoid vibration: avoid using vibration eq inside the cabinet. The cabinet should be sterilized by UV lamp for at Igast 30 minutes with the window fully closed before any experiment. It should be replaced when either the total working time reaches 1000 hours or the intensity is lower than the requirement. €. Daily Maintenance A detailed daily record of operating time is recommended, as the accumulated using time will directly affect the plan of maintenance, LXt0 avoia eteee shock, please cut off ALL power before applying maintenance for he cabinet! 2.6.1 Preparations before Maintenance Material needed: soap, hot water or warm water, a piece of soft cotton cloth, a pieee of dry cloth or towel, rubbing alcohol or other disinfectants, 1:100 dilution of household bleach, abrasive household cleaners, sterile water 2.6.2 Clean the Cabinet Surface 1) Clean the surface of working zone Wipe the entire surface with a soft cotton cloth which has been soaked with concentrated liquid soap. Afterwards, wipe off the foam with another cotton cloth or towel which has been soaked with clean hot or warm water, At the end, wipe the entire surface with a dry catton cloth or towel rapidly. Use a piece of soft cotton cloth or towel with non-abrasive houschold cleanser to wipe the surface. 2.63 Overall maintenance period The recommended interval period for comprehensive maintenance is either one year or 1000 working hours. 2.6.4 Maintenance methods a, Disinfect and clean the operating area; b. Use towel with 70% rubbing alcohol or 1:100 dilution of household bleach to wipe the working table, the inner face of front window and the inner wall surface of the working area(exclude the top wind grid). Use another towel with sterile water to wipe those area to erase the remain of chlorine ¢. Check the various functions of the cabinet; 4. Record down the maintenance result; 2) Annual maintenance a. Check the two lifting belt of the front window tubular motor, make sure both of them are well connected to the motor with same tightness. b, Check the UV lamp and fluorescent lamps. cc. Apply for overall performance test of the cabinet annually to ensure that the safety meets requirements. User is responsible for testing costs. d. Record down the maintenance result. 2.6.5 Storage conditions Safety cabinet should be stored in a warehouse with relative humidity no more than 75% and temperature lower than 40°C. The warchouse should have good ventilation performance without acid, alkali or other corrosive gases. Storage period shall not exceed one year. Safety cabinet stored for more than a year needs to be unpacked and checked. Only the tested and qualified safety cabinet can be sold, 2.7Methods and Procedures for Disinfection Details in the After-sale service manual Disinfection is necessary when any contaminated part of the maintenance, replacement filters, and performance testing, ete. Remind the operator to replace the filter immediately to protect the operator's safety 3) Velocity fluctuation alarm ‘There will be audio and visual alarm if the inflow velocity and down flow velocity below 20% of the standard value, namely, inflow velocity below 0.42mV/s, down flow velocity below 0.26m/s, atthe same time LCD display will twinkle exclamation mark to remind the operator pay attention. 4.1.2 Trouble shooting Please confirm whether the power is connected or not, whether the power cord is obvious damaged or not, whether the fuse is good or not, and whether the power locks are in the open state or not before the fault diagnosis.
