INTELIGENCIA EMPRESARIAL
HISTORIA

organización, a saber:
Velocidad.
Demasiada confianza métodos y herramientas no alineadas.

3. SUMMARY
BUSINESS INTELLIGENCE
HISTORY
In a 1958 article, IBM researcher Hans Peter Luhn uses the term Business
Intelligence. It is called business intelligence, business intelligence or BI (English
business intelligence), the set of strategies, applications, data, products,
technologies and technical architecture, which are focused on the administration
and creation of knowledge about the environment, through of the analysis of
existing data in an organization or company.
DEFINITION
The term business intelligence refers to the use of data in a company to facilitate
decision making.
Intelligence is defined as: "The ability to understand the interrelations of the facts
presented in such a way that manages the action towards a desired goal."
Intelligence tools are based on the use of an intelligence information system that
is formed with different data extracted from production, with information related
to the company or its areas, and economic data.
CHARACTERISTICS
This set of tools and methodologies have the following characteristics in common:
Accessibility to information. Data is the main source of this concept. The first thing
that must guarantee this type of tools and techniques will be the access of the
users to the data regardless of the origin of these.
In addition to the tools being simplified, the need for professionals, from all the
branches trained and with the necessary skills to interact with these tools by
themselves will be revealed.
BI REALIZATION LEVELS
With a business intelligence system, you can understand much better how
different processes affect the organization and detect opportunities that allow you
to plan a successful future.
With business intelligence we get accurate data, updated in real time, with trends
and forecasts that can, then, help us to make conjectures of the "what if" style,
but based on real data.
Business intelligence software can help you improve your ability to, for example,
analyze purchasing trends.
If you have a business intelligence system, all the necessary data comes from a
single source and you can access it from a control panel and convert it into a
report.
ADVANTAGE
DISADVANTAGES
Great investment.
Greater visibility of business understanding.
Analysis of the profitability of clients.
Simulations and trend analysis.
Oracle BI: Like the different applications of its type, it offers the possibility of
having access to information, sharing this information with the different sectors of
the company, and allowing the analysis of said information to carry out the correct
decision making which will be based on data obtained in a simple and fast way.
Business Objects: It offers users constant and simple access to the relevant
data, to facilitate the analysis of the information that has been stored, and the
subsequent development of different reports to improve the overall processes of
the company.
