A. INTRODUCTION
I am a Barrister and Solicitor in good standing with the Law Society of the Province of British
Columbia. I was called to the Bar in 1972. I have practised almost exclusively in family law
since 1975. I have experience in all aspects of family law and related matters for over 40 years,
during which time I have developed an expertise in adoption law.
As a part of my adoption practice, I have finalized adoption placements from Japan to British
Columbia residents.
B. DUTY AS AN EXPERT
I am aware of subrule(1) of Rule 11-2 of the B.C. Supreme Court Civil Rules.
Rule 11-2- Duty of Expert Witness
Duty ofexpert witness
(1)ln giving an opinion to the court, an expert appointed under this Part by one or
more parties or by the court has a duty to assist the court and is not to be an
advocate for any party.
Advice and certification
(2)If an expert is appointed under this Part by one or more parties or by the court,
the expert must, in any report he or she prepares under this Part, certify that he or
