NETWORKING LAB

Practical: 3 Periods/Week Sessional Marks: 50

End Exam: 3 Hours End Exam Marks: 50

Prerequisite:
Computer Networks Concepts.

Requirement:- NS2 software and JAVA

Course Objectives:
 Widely known as NS2, is simply an event driven simulation tool
.  Useful in studying the dynamic nature of communication networks.
 Simulation of wired as well as wireless network functions and protocols (e.g., routing algorithms, TCP, UDP)
can be done using NS2.
 In general, NS2 provides users with a way of specifying such network protocols and simulating their
corresponding behaviors.
Course Outcomes:
After completion of this course, a student will be able to :
1. Outline the various network simulator tools, and infer the different commands for network
designs and troubleshoot.
2. Build simple point to point networks and measure performance parameters like throughput and
packets dropped
3. Construct Ethernet LAN with NS2 tool and verify its performance
4. Evaluate the performance of algorithms like leaky bucket,RSA and distance vector routing.
