the DAX TOJEIRO. We hope you find the price list comprehensive and easy to
understand, however if there is anything that is not clear, please do not hesitate to give
us a call.

The DAX TOJEIRO is the only replica of this type to have had the endorsement of the
original designer JOHN TOJEIRO, who sadly died early in 2005. Our design team of
Peter Walker & Gary Sanders ensure that our products are continually being
developed to provide the performance, quality and value for money upon which our
reputation is based.

Our cars built with GENUINE DAX PARTS win more concours events and have
excellent resale values over a long period.

Remember, we do not mass-produce, each body and chassis is made to our customer’s
individual requirements. Whatever your engine option, we consider all our cars to be
capable of high performance and they are all designed & manufactured with this in
mind.

Personal visits to our showroom & factory are encouraged, where you can view our
demonstrators, the manufacture of the body panels and chassis along with cars in
various stages of build. An appointment is not normally necessary, but a ‘phone call to
check availability of demonstration vehicles etc. is advisable.

This top-of-the-range model offers all the style and presence of the
traditional Tojeiro, together with an even stiffer chassis and the ultimate
handling and road-holding package.

Its unique, patented camber-compensating front suspension system –

combined with a De Dion rear axle – works to extract the maximum
performance from modern, low-profile tyres, maintaining the optimum
contact patch for safe and predictable handling at all times.

Both models now have a Power Steering Option & the De Dion has a larger
front Disc Brake option

All our exhaust systems are made in house and are manufactured in
high grade stainless steel & supplied polished. The V8 systems
consist of 4 primary tubes per side with stainless steel flanges, 4
into 1, 5 inch diameter,
Re – packable side pipes. The V12 system has two down pipes
(mild steel) per side (using the original manifold), 2 into 1 side
pipes, spec. as per the V8 systems.

desired, any Jaguar XJ straight 6 or V12 engine can be used
• Transmission - where appropriate, any Jaguar XJ manual or automatic
transmission can be used
• Two Port Remote Brake Fluid Reservoir - an adapter is available for this reservoir
from DAX to provide an additional take-off port for a clutch master cylinder, where
required
• Handbrake Lever - fly-off design, can be taken from XJS donor vehicles only
• V5 Registration Document - essential to obtain an age related (non-‘Q’)
registration number

OTHER PARTS - NON-JAGUAR

• Steering Column - can be taken from any Ford Sierra with a square hazard-warning
button (Aug ’82 to Feb ’87). The Dax loom has been designed to operate with the
column switches supplied with Ford’s base model Sierra, however the switch gear
from the higher specified Sierra models can be used (incorporating delay-wipe,
central horn push, etc) with only minor loom modification. Brake Servo & Master
Cylinder - can be taken from any Mk V Ford Escort 1.4 litre (Jul ’90 to Dec ’94)
without ABS.

Note 2 – Power lock differentials were a customer option for UK XJ40s and are therefore
fairly rare

• Rear section of handbrake cable (including half-moon equaliser)
• Driveshaft assemblies
Note – The driveshafts will need to be stripped of their UJs and sent to DAX for machining
/ splining)
• Hub carrier assemblies (also known as suspension uprights) including lower fulcrum pins and
fixing hardware
• Wheel hubs / flanges
Other Parts (Jaguar / Daimler) – can be taken from any Jaguar / Daimler XJ40 (1986 to
’94)
• Engine – the DAX Tojeiro will accept a wide variety of (V8) power units but, if desired, any
Jaguar XJ40 straight 6 or V12 engine can be used
• Transmission – where appropriate, any Jaguar / Daimler XJ40 manual or automatic
transmission can be used
• Set of 4 slave wheels (useful to provide mobility during the build, spraying, etc)
• V5 registration document – essential to obtain an age related (non-‘Q’) registration number
Other Parts (Non-Jaguar / Daimler)
• Steering column – can be taken from any Ford Sierra with a square hazard-warning button
(Aug ’82 to Feb ’87). The Dax loom has been designed to operate with the column switches
 supplied with Ford’s base model Sierra, however the switch gear from the higher specified
Sierra models can be used (incorporating delay-wipe, central horn push, etc) with only minor
loom modifications
• Brake servo & master cylinder – can be taken from any Mk V Ford Escort 1.4 litre (Jul ’90 to
Dec ’94) without ABS
