English I: Reading and Writing – Book Report

Work in groups as indicated by the teacher and answer the following questions based on the three
stories

Each question must be answered with a paragraph. The paragraph should follow the format from
the book, have at least 120 words and be cohesive and coherent. Remember to follow the
grammar, spelling and capitalization rules found in the book.

1. Write a paragraph describing Sherlock Holmes’ personality in detail.

2. Irene Adler is the only important female character in the books. Write a paragraph describing
her and explaining her relationship with Sherlock Holmes. Why is she so important?

3. Why do Holmes and Watson work so well together? What makes Watson an attractive
character?

4. Which story was your favorite? Write a summary for it and tell why you liked it.
