Creating a Universe in IDT:

It involves following steps:

1. Create Project :(Local or Shared)

2. Create Connection: (Local or Secured)

3. Create Data Foundation Layer: (From Single Source or Multi-source Data Sources)

4. Create Business Layer: (From Relational or Multi-source Data Sources)

5. Publish The Business Layer to the Repository.

1. Creating a new Project:

1 Local Project: Create a new Project from File menu and give name as Motors.

2 Now add Resources (Connection, Data Foundation, Business Layer) to the Local Project.

3 After adding the resources to the Local Project you can make that project as a shared
project and make it available for other users on the server.

2. Creating Connection:
1 Creating Local Connection:
1. By right clicking on created Project click on new >Relational connection, give name
as Motors.

2. Select Appropriate Data Source and create connection.

3. It will create a Local connection .cnx icon to your Local Project.

2 Creating Secure Connection:

1. Now Publish the created Local connection to the Repository.

2. As soon as you publish the connection to the repository another Motors.cns

connection is created automatically.

3. This is how you can create Secure Connection.
