High Burden Tripping Relays

RXMN and RXMVC
2 H I G H B U R D E N T R I P P I N G R E L AY S R X M N A N D R X M V C

The High Burden Tripping Relay
provides enhanced security in the
substations and avoids opening of
the circuit breaker due to
capacitive discharge currents when
there is an earth fault in long DC
cables. The self reset trip relay
(RXMN) and electrically or manually
resettable latched trip relay
(RXMVC) fulfill applicable
international standards.

High Burden Tripping Relays
RXMN and RXMVC

Features Design
• High burden operating coil meeting ENA TS 48 4 The relays essentially contain an electromagnetic
standard part consisting of a magnetic circuit including an
• High speed operation (≤ 10ms) armature and an electronic circuit to regulate the

variant, 8 and 16 contacts in self-reset variant de-energized condition, the armature is held
• Hand reset / self-reset flag (red) available for in open position by a spring. The fixed contacts

• Heavy duty contacts with high continuous current RXMVC relay is of bi-stable type. It has two identi-

• Suitable for harsh environments – meets IP44 coil. When either coil is energized with the correct

• Double insulation, no exposed live parts – high magnetically.

operate. The burden is reduced to a low value af-
ter 50ms in the self-reset variant.
It is reduced to zero after 50ms in the electrical /
hand reset variant. Thus, there is no continuous
load on the auxiliary supply and also no risk of
welding of protective relay output contacts.
