Resident Profile
News Bob and Kathy Novak
Hello everyone. We’re Bob and Kathy Novak. On June 6th, we will have
lived here in Festival exactly ONE YEAR, having relocated from the
Greater Chicagoland area, where we both grew up and have lived all our
lives! HAPPY ANNIVERSARY!! It’s hard to believe it’s been a year already,
but on the other hand, we can’t remember ever living anywhere else!
Nor would we have wanted to live anywhere else! We’ve met so many
new friends since moving here, and absolutely LOVE being here. There is
always so much to do, and good friends to do it with! When we moved
in, we knew it would be a good decision to do so, but NEVER did we
expect that it would be as great as it has been!
I’m going to turn the big 70 this coming Memorial Day. I’m a retired
Regional Sales Manager for Minolta and Toshiba Corps, and spent 1969
and 1970 in Viet Nam with the 173rd Airborne Division, attached to the 75th Rangers. Kathy is a 39 year
employee with BMO Harris Bank, where she has been a Vice-President for several years now. Being with one
company for so many years is such a rarity, especially in today’s work environment! Kathy still works remote-
ly from home five days a week. Because of a 2 hour time difference from Chicago, Kathy starts her day pretty
early, but on the bright side, has her afternoons to enjoy with all her close gal pals doing all kinds of fun and
crazy stuff!
Before choosing Festival, we made two trips here to the valley and visited several Pulte and Robson proper-
ties from as far away as Florence to the West Valley. We kept coming back to Festival 3-4-5 times! Why? Sure
we saw some nice properties all over, but the thing that kept us coming back here were the people! Other
properties seemed like Ghost Towns when we went about the grounds. Every time we visited Festival, there
were always people all over the place doing all sorts of outside activities. THAT”S exactly the type of active
community we wanted to be a part of, so our decision was relatively easy, and we’ve never regretted our
decision since.
I’m currently recovering from a DOUBLE KNEE REPLACEMENT on April 12th, and happy to say, coming along
great, well ahead of the curve! We can’t wait to get back in shape, getting back into our terrific pool, and
starting a serious path in Pickle Ball! Softball is also a possibility in the not so distant future. In conclusion,
we have never been happier than we have been this past year. When you see us out and about, don’t hesi-
tate to say Hi!!
