TAMU-Q professor to co-chair US energy conference

in Arizona. This major joint conference will have
an expected participation of 5,000 delegates from
all around the world.
Speaking to Qatar Tribune,
Ozlap said, “This position
makes TAMU-Q and Qatar one
of the leaders in the energy field and raises
its profile internationally. I have been chosen
for this important position because of my
academic and research accomplishments. I
will also be making a presentation on this
topic at the conference. I am really happy at
this feat and I am sure that the university
also will benefit a lot from such accomplish-

Dr Ozalp joined the faculty of Texas A&M
Department in summer 2007.
She received her PhD in Mechanical
Engineering from the University of
Washington and her Master’s in Mechanical
Engineering from Stanford University. She
holds a second Master’s degree in Nuclear
Sciences, and BS in Applied Physics both from
Ege University, Izmir-Turkey. In 2006, Dr Ozalp
was invited to Mechanical and Process
Engineering Department of Swiss Federal
Institute of Technology (ETH) in Zurich to join
into a European Union project on solar hydro-
gen production as a visiting professor. Prior to
joining to Tamuq,
Dr Ozalp was an Assistant Professor at Ege
University Mechanical Engineering

ellery and men attired in daz-
zling pyjama kurta who were
dancing on the beats of
Gujarati folk songs. The
colourful performance of
Garba was so attractive that
even the onlookers could not
prevent themselves from
joining the fun. The dancers
moved in circles matching
each other step to step. The
energy and enthusiasm of the
participants was so infective
