Senior High School

I. OBJECTIVES:

At the end of the lesson, 75 percent of the students are expected to;

1. Identify the different settings in social work;

2. Demonstrate an understanding of the settings of social work;

3. Appreciate the contributions of social work in different settings;

II. SUBJECT MATTER:

C. MATERIALS: Hand-out, ppt. Presentation
D. PERFORMANCE STANDARD:
E. STRATEGIES: Class discussion and Group Presentation

III. PROCEDURE:

A. Preparation
Greet the students, pray, checking of attendance and ask them to seat
properly.

There will be a recall of the previous topic.

Motivation

 The teacher will show a short documentary video of social

worker in particular settings
 What can you say about the video?
 What particular activities are they involved?

B. LESSON PROPER

The Teacher will show photos of different settings of social work and will ask
the students to give their insights.

 Photo 1: Hospitals
 Photo 2: Correctional
 Photo 3: DSWD
 Photo 4: Home for the aged
 Photo 5: Rehabilitation.
 Then the class will cluster the following photos according to five settings where
social workers found.
 Government
 Private Sector
 Civil Society
 School
 Community
The teacher will discuss the different settings of social work and give
examples.
Group Activity
Show me a picture of settings of social work.
The students will be grouped into 5. Each group will be given settings
come up with a tableau.

Each group will be given 3 minutes to present their output.

The teacher will ask if you were a social worker, what settings you would choose.
Explain why
The teacher will ask a volunteer student to summarize the lesson

What new learning did you develop about the Settings in the Social Work?

C. EVALUATION: In ½ sheet of paper

1. Identify two settings where social workers are found. Give one example on
each and describe.

IV. ASSIGNMENT:

Interview a social worker in your barangay. Find out the specific settings to which
he/she has rendered service and describe the settings.
