AIMS :
To identify and use the affirmative and negative form of the verb HAVE GOT, present simple
tense, first person singular.
To introduce vocabulary related to camping : rucksack, watch, compass, torch, camera, notebook,
map, binoculars, water bottle, hat.

Expressing possession by using the affirmative and negative form of the verb HAVE GOT, present
simple tense, first person singular.
WARMING UP
Good afternoon , my name is Virginia. I’ll be your teacher for some time and ‘d like to show
you something.
What is this?
They will probably say the word in Spanish . I will reply with the word in English.
Yes , a tent. It’s a tent. Well, I am going camping… and this my RUCKSACK. I will be wearing my
camping hat too.
Presentation
I will stick the list on the board and take everything out of the rucksack. The list will have words
and pictures.

Me : Camera? Ss : Yes.
Me : Yes, I ‘ ve got a camera -
Me : Watch ? Ss : Yes.
Me : Yes, I ‘ve got a watch -
Me : Torch? Ss : No
Me : No, I haven’t got a torch. -

I will put a SMILEY EMOJI for the positive answers or an ANGRY EMOJI for the
negative answers, as we all answer together.
Next , I will draw the smiley emoji with the words I HAVE GOT A ….. on the board. Then the words I
HAVEN’T GOT next to the drawing of the angry emoji.

PRACTICE
I will write that phrase on the board and I will show them several envelopes , I will have 8 blue
envelopes and inside there will be pictures from the vocabulary. Also, I will have 8 red envelopes
and inside there will be SMILEY AND ANGRY emojis.
I will ask the volunteer to repeat and then to the rest of the class. I will ask the volunteer to
choose classmate until we run out of pictures. If necessary, we will practice one more time.
PRODUCTION
Ok . that was very good. Now,open your folders and write the date.
I will show one sample of the following activity and I will hand in the rest of them, one to each
student. I will ask them to stick them in their folder.

I will explain the task while pointing to the paper.
You have to write sentences according to the pictures. For example, I’ve got a torch or I haven’t
got a compass. N ow, you do it.
After a few minutes. I will ask : Ready, children?. I will ask some volunteers to come to the board
and write the sentences in order to check the activity.
Alternative activity.
Once they have finished working in their folders, we are going to practice one more time orally. I
will go to their desk and I will give one student a picture and an emoji. The task will be to say the
sentence out loud.
