REMEDIAL LESSON PLAN ( UNIT 2)

AIMS :

To identify and use the interrogative form of the verb CAN, present simple tense, third person
singular

TOPIC :

Expressing ability by using the interrogative form of the verb CAN, present simple tense, third
person singular

WARMING UP :

I will show the class the poster of the minions doing different activities. I will encourage them to
tell me what they can or can’t do. ( Next to the positive sentences, there will be a TICK and a
CROSS next to the negative sentences.)

Me : Let’s see what the minions can or can’t do. ( Pointing to the poster)
St 1 : BOB CAN CLIMB A TREE
ST2: LISA CAN’T ROLLERBLADE
ST3: DAVE CAN SING
ST4: KEVIN CAN RIDE A BIKE
ST5: VIKY CAN’T PLAY THE GUITAR.
ME : VERY GOOD.

PRESENTATION :

Using the same poster and pointing to the pictures I will introduce once again the interrogative
form CAN… ? and I will make emphasis on YES, HE CAN / NO, HE CAN’T / YES, SHE CAN / NO, SHE
CAN’T. ( I will stick the label of the answers next to the minions)

CAN ……… ?

Me: So, pay attention… Can Bob climb? Ss : Yes.


Me : YES, HE CAN. SS: YES, HE CAN.
Me: Can Lisa rollerblade? Ss : No
Me : No, SHE CAN’T SS: NO, SHE CAN’T
Me: CAN KEVIN RIDE A BIKE? SS : YES
Me: YES, HE CAN SS : YES, CAN
Me: Can Viky play the guitar? Ss : NO
Me : NO, SHE CAN’T. SS: NO, SHE CAN’T
ME : CAN DAVE SING? SS: YES
ME: YES, HE CAN SS : YES , HE CAN
ME : CAN BECKY DANCE? SS : YES
ME : YES, SHE CAN SS: YES, SHE CAN.
( I will ask them to repeat while pointing to the
different pictures)

PRACTISE :

I will stick on the board 7 pictures, student A will have to pay attention to the picture and make
the question using CAN…. ? , STUDENT B will answer . Then student B will do the same.

We are going to work on the activity that couldn’t be done. ( I will clean the board , write the date
and explain them what they have to do. We will check it on the board)
